How do I remove the door guard glue/tape crap?

How do I remove the tape or glue crap that holds those door guards on. I've been trying to scrape it off all morning, but it's just not comming off . Everything else falls apart when you don't want it too, but when you want something to come off it won't budge. I'm about to grind the sh*t off . So what is the best way to take it off. Please help

You're talking about the door moldings, right? Most of mine came off pretty easy, but I sprayed all types of cleaners and stuff on it and the rest wouldn't come off. I let my body shop deal with it, I imagine they will sand it off

Yea it's from the side moldings. I've used every type of cleaner & chemical I own. I don't have any goo gone. I think I may just sand it off then. This stuff is pi**ing me off! I can't belive this actually holds that good.

you COULD get most of it off with a razor blade i would imagine. sanding it is easy enough

I tried the razor blade at first & stupid me cut into the paint. So I just put that down. I am sanding right now & it's working.

I tried that too, it didn't help much. I have sanded it off one of the doors & still have the other one to do. I am going to go to Walmart tomorrow & get some of that goo gone stuff & see if that will do it.

I've used WD40 in the past to remove adhesive material. It takes off the stuff that holds on motorcycle tank emblems anyway.

Best way to remove mouldings, badges, etc. fixed with tuo sided tape is to use dental flush string(cord) in a doubled or tripled fashion & long enough to wrap in your hands 7 in up & down motion pass it in betwen the moulding adhesive & metal. Thats how i ve done it. good luck

I like that floss idea...Going to have to give that a try sometime...Mine was paint to get off too and they took some paint off with them.

I ended up sanding most of it off, painting the car anyway...
