Transforming my 84 z28 front bumper
Hey guys im changing my 84 z28 camaro body into a 85 - 89 z28 camaro but i got a question about the front bumper, would i also have to change the reinforcements of my 84 camaro in order for the newer 85 - 89 front bumper to fit? or is it possible to just make a few adjustments?

The most i think you would run into is the plastic impact material behind the bumper, it molds to the bumper cover perfectly for that model and may possibly be a hair difference, others also may be able to help verify this.
cant belive your changing the style, the 82-84 is by far the best and crisp looking, the 85-90 is so gross with the turn signals pushed to the front, i cant stand 85-90, they ruined the body with ground effect, should have kept the car simple,
Although i do agree that the signal lights are lame.
as for the topic of changing front bumpers, for sure the impact material behind it will need to be changed. possibly a few other things.

was the reinforcement really tight against the cover? mine is, i have one of the 84 aluminum bumpers that im swapping on in place of the original steel one. may be a difference there too. also what about turn signal mounts and such? i always thought that an 84 would look awesome with a 85-90 ground effects or 91-92 ground effects since the front spoiler is pointy like the 84 bumper cover

Hey,if anybody is interested,I've got a 86' coupe that i've installed a 84' front end with 85'to 90' ground effects on if you want to know what it will look like.I was a little concerned that the spoiler is a fair bit shorter than the ground effects, but once installed they seem to match up quite well.I thought i was the only one who preferred the 82'to 84' nose.I think it looks more aggressive.Pics @ www.cardomain.com/ride/467913
