Is This At All Repairable?
I have no body work experience, and therefore don't wana try and fix this myself, but i was wondering if it is at all fixable... By the way..what you are looking at is where my mirror WAS on my passenger door. I got into an accident and smashed up the mirror, so i took it off.

A body shop should be able to work that back into shape. For the time being though, I would put some tape over the holes so no water gets down inside your door.

I'm having a hard time deciding how to fix this..although I am in no rush because this is just a project car, it once was my daily driver, but now just sits. If I get a used door, I will need a paint job, and will cost more, or if I just get it fixed at a body shop??

reguardless what you do, your going to need to paint the door, it would probably be easier and cheaper to find a used door and paint that then to straighten that out and then repaint that.

just depends what you wanna do. Since you don't have any experience in doing much body work...then your best bet would be to get another door. It would be waaay cheaper to install another door then to have a body shop fix your current door.

I vote used door. Is your car a different shade of white than the factory? If it is the factory paint then you shouldn't need to re-paint it, it should match fine.

Its the factory white, but the only thing is, it has ground effects on it and and black stripes...I can live without it, but it would look really silly without it on that one door.

By the way, how much do you think a used door would run me in decent condition....power windows, manual mirror. I did a quick search for some local junk yards online and none of them have one.

I think I might get a used door...but then I'm back to my other question about the black stripes and ground effects.
Camaro ground effects are cheap and plentiful
For the strip either get a piece of vinyl and put it on the new door or some black tape for the time being
Depends if you want it to be fixed or be good enuff for the now

take the ground effects off your current door and put them on the replacement door
If the stripes are vinyl, you could just peel them off the rest of your car.

Great job!

Since you said it is a project car you could try and fix it yourself. What do you have to lose a door that is already damaged? It would be a good way to start learning autobody repair. And if you mess the door up real bad you can just get a used one to replace it. Mike

I understand where you're coming from, but there's not much damage to it, just the sheet metal is kinked up a bit. Like I said, this used to be my daily driver, but a horrible drive in the rain ended that. I took a turn too fast in the rain and fishtailed into a curb, I bent every front steering part, possible bent struts, broken rim, blown tire, bent a-arm, cracked and broken k-member, so it's not entirely a project car, and anything that can save me money or time, I will do. I am currently driving a Blazer and plan on working on the Camaro soon, so I want to do the easy work first....my dad's friend is giving me a junk 3rd gen for free to use as parts for all the parts I broke, but it is just a rolling chasis, no body. So to answer your question, I would rather have it done right before I mess it up, because I just want to get it on the road.

yea, your going to need a body shop to grind it down to metal, and use a stud gun to pull out the low parts, while tapping it down with a body hammer in the high spots, bondo where needed, and primer it up and blend the door in...you'd be suprised how much a body shop will charge for a half day project...i'd bet atleast 700$ find a used door and have a shop paint it up for you. if its a project car like you said, i think you can deal without the lower black stripe for a bit...and ultimately your gonna end up repainting the entire car when your done anyways to give it that brand new look.
