You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
I decided to try an old school look and take the hood right off the car. I thought with the hood on, you just couldn't see the blower enough. What do you think?

I think best would be a flat hood instead of the cowl.

Cut a BIGGER hole!! Covers up that ugly cowl area. Nice car.

Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
I agree...but the car was built with a smaller blower initially that fit under the cowl hood. The car had the flame paint job at that time. Now, with the bigger blower, there needed to be a hole in the hood. I wanted to get a stock hood, but we could never match the paint. Kind of a catch 22!

Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
If I had to choose between the two. I would do no hood. The cowl hood just looks funny I think with the blower sticking trough it. But the best thing would be the stock flat hood. There should be a place to get the color matched. I know some places get so technical they use a computer with a scaner to get the right color. Adam :-)

If repainting a flat hood isnt an option..........Off it is. That cowl hood dosent look right with a blower through it.

Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
looks good except for the cowl part of the hood, for some reason does not look that good to me with a hole in the cowl for the top end of the engine. i would pitch the cowl hood, get a hood off of a v6 and cut a hole in it.
but hey, it's your car. looks like a good bit of cash was spent on that engine. nice.

Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
I say put a stock hood on and cut it out around the blower. Run a black hood if you have to. The cowl hood doesnt look right with the blower threw it.

car looks frigging sweet. hood. no hood. on blocks. whatever. looks amazing.
i think it looks kinda cool with the blower sticking through the cowl myself.
is that a goodmark cowl hood?

yeah here in NJ you can't have anything that sticks up higher than 2 inches legally, be it a hood or something sticking out of it.

Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
Thanks for all the input guys! I am digging it with the hood off so I think that is how I will keep it for now. To answer your question though, it was built as a show car...I bought it and am now converting it to a usable drag car. Moser 9" rear with 4.56's, adjustable torque arm, sub frame connectors etc.

Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
sweet looking car, like a lot have said.. the flat hood which is not really possible for you would look the best, cause then it would keep people wondering what else is under there!? so if your making into a semi drag car now.. have you ran the 1/4 yet? or have any idea's of what it would run close to?

Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
I got a personal license plate frame that says "Hoods are for ****", so you know were I stand. Try and hunt down a stock flat fiberglass hood, hard to come by but not impossible.
Re: You guys like my car better with the hood on, or off?
Make some flat black cover panels for the fenders and firewall to lessen the distraction from the shiny stuff and keep things from blowing around at high speeds.
