Finally Got my '89 GTA.....
But it has a rebuilt salvaged title
. Im actually not mad though..I inspected the car to the best of my ability and it looks like nothing happened to it! the way I see it as long as the car is 100% drivable, looks good exterior wise im going to keep it! What do you guys think I should do?

Re: Finally Got my '89 GTA.....
Well I was planning on making it a 800+ hp car (cant blame a guy for dreaming) but a freind of mine told me it wasnt worth it since it has a "rebuilt salvage" title (looks pretty straight if u ask me....just check out the pics)....I have mixed thoughts about the car right now; fix it up regardless of the title or fix it up a little and sell it for what its worth! Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Finally Got my '89 GTA.....
It has the wrong spoiler for the year...perhaps a rear end collision/repair? That would be harder to spot because you cant see behind the panels as easy as the fenders and what not. And the front sheetmetal is obviously disturbed. So either someone had it apart, or it shifted when it was hit or whatever.
It doesnt take much for insurance companies to total out these cars. Slightest tweak of the chassis, or an impact that requires panel replacement, and some companies will want them totalled.
It DEFINETLY looks like it has potential though. Its complete, fairly straight... The best part about it is... since its not a perfect GTA, dont feel bad about modding the heck out of it!

Looks like a very nice car. I would just fix it up, and enjoy it. There's no use in fixing it up to sell because people see a salvage title and think something horrible happened to the car, so you would just be wasting your money.

Yeah I was leaning towards modding the heck out of it to kill a couple of stangs maybe some ricers and what not lol! As for were the car was impacted, the passenger side door doesnt align perfectly with the fender...its not too bad but if you pay enough attention to it you'll notice it; you can also notice the passenger headlight is out of wack a little with the hood so it must of been hit on that side...is it possible to have it all aligned and flush with the hood?; it runs good but is in definate need of a tune up because it bogs out a little when I press the pedal but once I get that done, shell be running like a dream....hows 600 miles on a rebuilt engine sound!

almost forgot...I will post pics of the passengers side door and fender within the next couple of days.

My 85 trans am has a salvage title too. But it wasnt from a wreck, it was a police impound that never got picked up and was sold at auction.

Right On! I cant believe how some insurance companies will convert a clean title into a salvaged title over minor accidents or non accidents at all! whats the world coming to! LOL!
