What is the correct rear control arm finish and protection?

I have an 83 T/A and I’m refinishing the rear control arms. Mine are bare metal from the factory and I want to keep it that way but I want to protect against rust. Are there any clear products (paint or power coat or something?) that will keep the original look but protect it and the other bare metal parts under the car?

Does anyone have any pics of original rear control arms so I can get the finish right?

I believe POR-15 offers a clear product that seals against rust. I have to imagine that there was some kind of paint, no matter how crappy it was, from the factory though.

I have a set from an 87 ta laying around and they have a dull black paint on them from the factory. I can get pics latter today if you want.

Wildjeff my '83's rear LCAs have a satin or low gloss finish(same as the front LCAs).I can get pictures for you when I get back home if you need them.

EDIT:I have this picture of my stock panhard bar.I didn't wipe it down when i removed it so i'm not sure how much you can tell from it.But I can tell you the LCAs are the same color.

Some pics would be great. I see your panhard bar is black. I think mine is too but the lower control arms on my car are not black.

Eastwood has some clear powder coating. I might try it, see how it turns out.
