So a 99 cavalier runs a stop sign and slams into my passenger side door and rear quarter panel. The door from the mid line down is caved in along with the quarter panel. I can't open the door at all. I think they will be deeming my car "totaled" what do you guys think. I'll try to get pictures up later on tonight when I get off of work.

I was actually pulling into work when it happened! But yes I am fine, however my camaro is not. :/

 

Damn thats all bad. Tell them to fix it if you can. Or get the insurance to buy you an Iroc or z28. Sorry bout that man thats sux as$.

 

Oh well dude, stuff happens. But yes I believe book value of the car is $1,900? That's what they told me when I registered the car this year. I already found a nice white and black IROC-Z in my area for around $2000. I was highly interested in that if they decide to give me money for the car.

 

Depending on condition, by the sounds of it the car will be totaled. Insurance companies generally pull the trigger when the damage exceeds 70% of the car's value. Unfortunately, what they consider the value to be is usually much lower than what the owner would like.

 

it will deffinently more than likely be totaled esp if the door and quarter are smashed have your insurance total it buy it back sell all good parts, and buy yourself a new one

 

Okay every new news about the accident. The cavalier by the insurance company has been deemed completely at fault and they will be either totaling my car or fixing it. They"re send out someone today to look at it and asses the damages.
