How to remount GFX.
I took my Side GFX off of my 91 camaro and i cannot seem to get it to bolt back up right. The problem is with the bracket on the rear quarter behind the doors. I cannot get it to slip back into the holes its supposed to go into for the life of me. It always leaves like a 3-4 cm gap between the gfx and the quarter. Do any of you guys have any tips or other ways to mount the GFX which are easier?

Are you talking about those round discs that the ground fx slip in behind? Just hold the fx firmly against the body and slip them into place. Had mine off and back on half a dozen times.

Nope its the GFX that runs along the door. The side skirt, there is a metal bracket that it slides into that just keeps moving around and wont slide in right. The bracket is located right infront of the rear tires and seems to be bolted into the inside of the rear quarter which i cant get to.

You can get that bracket off relatively simple.Just open the door, remove the black plastic vent piece on the body side of the door jamb(its held in by 1 phillips head screw) once you have that part removed, reach your arm down into that hole with a 11mm socket and ratchet in hand you can remove the 1 nut thats holding that bracket on.
Hope that helps you.

You have to remove that bracket from the car and pop it back into the ground effect piece.

I didn't know you could get to the nut that way though, I have always removed the seat bottom and lower interior panel and got to it through the opening in there. Your way sounds much easier.

it sounds easier, but in my experience, while your turning the ratchet you tend to get cut by the sheet metal, I always just remove the interior panel and run alot of extensions, I dont even take the seat out.

Re: How to remount GFX.
it takes me about 2 min. using this method. I've never been cut to the point of having to have a blood transfusion or even a band-aid.Actually never been cut at all, a few scratches maybe, but when you want it done NOW!,thats the best way IMHO!
How much of a pain is it to remove enough screws to remove the interior panel and twist it around the rear seat?

haha, since my cars no looker right now I just leave the interior panel out. but when I did try the vent entrance I did get cut, course imo your not working on a car until your bleeding , just my experience though.

ok,so you just leave the seat bolted in and the interior panel just laying there in case you want to remove the gfx without bleeding and do my method if you really feel like feel like working on your car?

Re: How to remount GFX.
no, I have my interior in my closet, and Im currently mounting Camaro gfx on my Trans Am so I need to get to the bolts eaisly and I find my way eaiser. that whole bleeding thing was just a joke (because it seems anytime I work on my car I always end up bleeding). and I never had to touch any seat bolts to get the panel out...

Re: How to remount GFX.
Ok,that clears things up a bit.
You stated that (I always just remove the interior panel and run alot of extensions) my bad, didn't realize you had your interior stored away instead of in the car?!?Thats where my panels are and removing 1 screw and getting a couple scratches in the process of removing the 1 nut that holds on the gfx piece is a whole lot faster and easier than removing that panel and taking a chance of breaking it when you want it done NOW!
If anyone is as unpatient as I am,you know exactly what I mean.

but anyways, after removing the interior piece about 3 times I just decided to leave it out because it was much easier, and as I stated before my cars currently not very pretty so I dont care about the way the interior looks. sorry about the misunderstanding.
