Hello,
I have contacted several people and gotten different answers from all of them....I want to remove the louvered grill on my 1990 RS and install the 1991 Z28 grill w/fog lights.What modifications will be necessary to accomplish this?I have found the grill,lights,relay,etc but am assuming there are brackets required as well but cannot find them or any info as to where the brackets need to be mounted.

Been there, done it....

Its a direct swap, no mods really, unless you consider having to drill holes for the license plate bracket a mod.

Obviously, wiring & mounting brackets for the fog lights, but the holes are all already there.

I was getting bad info from people that the 91 Z28 grill would not fit on my 90 RS.My car is at the body shop now for paint and i will be picking up the grill/lights on Monday.Now i just need to find the brackets.If anyone has a set...LMK. Also, what year cars have these same brackets?

I swapped the RS grille out for the Z insert. Just bought aftermarket lights.

I had my 92 back in 96, so getting stock lights was still $$$$$$$$$.

 

yep i did the swap on my old rs also. everything bolts right up

 

yes its very easy what i did was actually with the fog lamps was i boought some blazer cheapos for now they looked OEM but i didnt have the bracket so i mounted the fog lamps a little farther back not to much and then put mesh in front of them 2 days later that saved me since i hit a little rabit and it was caught in the mesh all i had to do was replace mesh not to bad if i can ill take some pics of it and post them

 

I already paid for the 91 Z28 grill and fog lights...$$$$$ but now i cant find brackets.Even tried the bone yards with no luck.I believe that the brackets that will work were from 85-92 but im not sure? Anyone know ?

Try the classifieds on here there was a few sets floting around a few weeks ago.

 

If not & your handy with tools , you can fab your own brackets. Post pics of your car when your done.

 

I think i just located a pair of brackets...will know for sure tomorrow.I will try to get my buddy to take some pics.Its starting to look pretty good.Just put in 4K worth of stereo goodies,Harwood hood, painting now.Next is the interior....needs new carpet and seats.As i wont have it back until next Friday or the following Monday it may take about 1 1/2 weeks for pics.
