I recently bought some louvers for my '92 camaro and when I got them I was super pissed to find out they were made of plastic! I'm looking for someone to make me an offer on some real, metal louvers. Please let me know if you have some you are willing to sell and send me some pics!!

 

Are you talking about hood louvers? I believe those are all made out of plastic.

 

by louvers you mean the fins on the hood right? i think even the rear hatch louvers(that block the sun) are made of plastic too. my uncle has them on his car.

 

Yeah, none of the louvers on the car were ever made of metal. They look fine, even though they are plastic. Plastic is better cuz they won't rust.

i'm talking about the hatch louvers...I thought that the original louvers that came on the camaro that were made by GM were metal

 

The louvers on the back of my camaro are metal, don't know if they are factory though.

 

Usually the sides are plastic & the middle is aluminum.

 

Original GM's were this way

 

The original GM louvers are ABS on the sides and then aluminum for the slats. They lock together to give them the 1 piece look. If the slats are plastic, you got aftermarket.

but is anyone willing to sell some louvers that aren't all plastic? the ones I got from jcwhitney didn't even have the third brake light cutout...or does anyone know where I can order some more legit-looking ones?

 

i bought those cheesy looking ones from j.c and didnt even put them on the car returned them the next day.i gave up looking for the aluminum ones
