$10 aero ground effect chin spoiler...
As most of you know when i started this project i had alot of legal issues... well now that they have been solved i have gotten the Z on the road and kicking again. When i started the car was in iffy shape... like somthing McGyver would do lol. Well i have been changing my body to a 91-92 Z28 style. I recently picked up a full set of ground effects. The chin spoiler i got only ran me $10! If you notice the ground effect isn't smashed at the front where people park aginst the curbs... i got lucky. I used yellow rust-oleum paint on it and plan for temporary to paint the car as i got with this paint to keep it lookin good and alot to seal the metal from moisture. Is rust-oleum a good choice for a temporary paint job? I just thought i would share how hunting in junkyards can pay off.... Enjoy.

Looks good. Nice paint job I might add
. And $10 for a non-damaged chin spoiler sounds like a good deal to me.
Send some of that luck my way please.

The Rust-oleum is an excellent choice for a temporory paint job and even for a long-term job. You made out like the Frito Bandito on that chin spoiler!! Call yourself Mr. Lucky.......

Wow, good deal. Last year, I got a used '91-'92 chin spoiler for $20, but that's double what you paid, lol. Exelent choice on the Rustoleum, you can't beat the stuff.

Off topic, but... did you paint your grille yellow? If so, how did you get the 'camaro' black?!
I'm painting mine black now, its at the shop, but i'm wondering how to get the 'camaro' white again!

Re: $10 aero ground effect chin spoiler...
hey man, i wasn't sure how to do it either but then i tried a simple idea... after the yellow had dried i took a black paint marker and slowly did each letter and let it dry. I did about 2-3 coats so there were no streaks. So far that seems to be the best method. -Matt

I just went to walmart and the guy looked at me like i had 15 heads when i asked about a paint marker...
I looked in the toys section too, but apparently walmart doesn't sell testors paint anymore... or at least not the one near my house... i figured maybe thats where it would be...

Re: $10 aero ground effect chin spoiler...
man im sorry lol i could have sworn they sold it.... they sell everything you dont need though. Well im tryin to think is there a hobby lobby near you? Tried any place like lowes? If i can ill look and if i get one ill send it you way. Sorry for the wild goose chase man.
Also man have you checked for the color paint pen things at auto zone? They sell all kinds of colors that are used to fix scratches. That would work just take your time. Walmart has them in the auto section. Try that man.

I guess they aren't available from the dealer anymore? The last one I bought was a few years ago, for about $200. That was with my discount through work. The bumper cover was about the same cost.

Re: $10 aero ground effect chin spoiler...
I ended up getting those markers tonight... i found them at AC moore. There a different brand than what you had, but same thing...
I got white and silver. My camaro logo was defiantly white before, so i'm not sure if i want to do white, or silver, but one way or the other, i'm just glad i found an 'easy' way to make it look good!

Re: $10 aero ground effect chin spoiler...
Hey man, afraid not because the bumpers were a different shape. The 85-92 front bumpers allow you to use any of the ground effect from that year range. If you were closer i would say that i have an alright bumper cover that came with the aero ground effect i payed $25 for and a 85-90 chin spoiler that was on my camaro (check the Sig) But just check around some yards caz you will find then and they will bolt right up. BTW the older ground effects have a nice classic feel to them. I like them. A quick question for you. You get very good gas mileage with a carbed 305? Is it a daily driver? later man
