z06 4th gen wheels
im about to get a set off this guy that has 18" z06 wheels that he had on his 2000 SS camaro, so i did the search and looked on the FAQ and it says to get 2.5 wheel hub spacer? i have spacer's in the rear already, the ones that go inbetween the rotor and the wheel its self so im wondering if thats good enough. has anyone done this particular swap or setup? or if there something i need to mod it with im lookin for a part name or # and/or site. thanks all.

Re: z06 4th gen wheels
Depending on the offset of the rear ones, 2" may be too much.
I don't know the offset of the ones I had but with the LS1 rear end (same as having 2" spacers on each wheel), they stuck out a little too much.
18x9.5" front with 275/35/18 tires and 18x10.5" in the rear with 295/35/18

Re: z06 4th gen wheels
man thats some money right there! for all four. well thing is i dont have a LS1 rear and those pics are they with the ls1 rear? theyre not THAT bad, it looks pretty good, as long as the wheels dont rub the lip ya know. well if anything i can get the 1.7' adapters and if i need more room i can put a spacer on that as well? i dunno. i think im gonna have to play it with trial and error. i mean if i can bolt on those wheels from the guys 2000 SS camaro and drive around for the mean time until i get the adapters and what not, then thats cool. i think getting some measurements would improve a lot also...

Re: z06 4th gen wheels
To run 4th gen wheels on the rear, you will HAVE to get the adapters or a 4th gen rear....which isn't a bad idea. Bigger/better brakes...better posit & no adapters.
For the front....The adapters will be reuired, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
So...4 adapters OR 2 adapers & a 4th gen rear axle.

Re: z06 4th gen wheels
u can't just bolt on the wheels and try them out without spacers, will not fit, i personally used 2" all around and had to pound in part of the inner fender wall as my 305's rubbed somewhat, i figured if ever i sold the rims having uniform 2" spacers front and back would be easier

Re: z06 4th gen wheels
My C5 wheels with 275/40 tires needed 2in spacers/adapters all around. No way they would have fit at either end without them. After I swapped to a 4th gen rear I ditched the rear spacers.

Re: z06 4th gen wheels
wait i thought spacers werent "safe" since the studs were too far from bolt thus weakening the load and whatnot. i think im just gonna go with the 2" adapters all around then, even though theyre like 150 a pair...does anyone know a place that has em a bit cheaper? if not, no biggie ill still have some beer money and cash for that 350 im about to pick up. also, the guy is sellin 18" inchers so will that have some bad wheel rub up front? i see that guy said something about poundin out some fender there, hey whatever it takes right??
