Year Of Camaro Z28?
Year Of Camaro Z28?
My dad had gone to look at an 198-? camaro z28 for me. He told me that it is white with gray/silver ground effects, red interior with A/T/C power windows/locks, T-tops, black spoiler?, and some kind of hood louvers. Can anyone identify the year of this car for me by the color sceme on it? It would be much apriciated.

Re: Year Of Camaro Z28?
yea its to hard to tell, 82-84 had a diffrent front end , 85-90 is the same and 91 and 92 had "vents" in the ground effects
look at the pic as suggested and maybe that will help you better place what year it is

Re: Year Of Camaro Z28?
If it had louvers on the hood, it would be an 85-87 Z28. That is if the hood wasn't put on an 82-84 Z28. The best way to know the year is by the VIN number. Do you have that?
Re: Year Of Camaro Z28?
No i currently do not have the vin number. according to some pics on the main page of this site it would be an 1982 with the white with grey effects, but it is hard to tell being a have not seen the car at all.
Re: Year Of Camaro Z28?
The Z28 had silver ground effects from 82-87. The 82-84 had black recessed areas on the hood, but no louvers. The 85-87 Z28 had the same style hood louvers as the IROC-Z. My above comment about the hood swap could still be the case here. Try to find out if the car had a 3rd brake light. The 85's didn't have one, the 86 had it on the glass and the 87 had it in the rear spoiler.

Re: Year Of Camaro Z28?
ya man almost every camaro i have ever seen for sale has been painted and so many have had different hoods, ground effects, spoilers, rims and even tail lights switched out that it is impossible to tell unless you have the vin #

Re: Year Of Camaro Z28?
Yeah, I wouldnt even try to guess at the year by the way it looks. These cars are just too interchangable. The vin is the only way to go. For instance, one of my cars is an 1986 IROC-Z that everyone swears is an 87 or 88 because it is yellow (That is its original color). Yellow wasnt a popular color in 86 so, people guess 87 or 88.....
