I have a 1989 camaro rs which i bought from a kid; he claims he replaced the nose with a z28 nose, (iroc) and I'm trying to look online for my nose to see if i could compare to notice what I really have.

Would anyone post images of what a 89 Camaro RS nose looks like w/ trim too hopefully. I just want to make sure what I have before I find out i have a rs nose and i go and buy another one..

They should both have the same nose. The only difference would be the grille insert. The RS has a louvered grille and the Z28 should have a grille with fog light openings.

Mine looked like this (and pretty much still does) when I picked it up 2 years ago in bone stock form.

 

the grill swap is a common swap . the IROC/Z does look much better IMO . a cheap up-grade . a good up-grade . good luck .

 

Yeah mine doesnt have the full grill in it. I have the split grill with the license plate holder in the middle of it with the fog lights on each side. (i dont have the fog lights)

 

the previous owner then probably swapped in the grill piece or the entire cover if he knows as much as you about these cars.
89rs camaros got the same bumper cover as all 85-92 z28s and irocs.
the 85-87 sport coupes had front bumpers with no gfx.

umm,no.The 88-92 rs cars also came with the full grille if they weren't optioned with the foglights originally.
all of the gfx equipped cars had the same front bumper cover(no matter what some folks might say).I'm not saying the prev. owner didn't use a z nose but,if you weren't there to see it then there will be no telling.

 

I notice alot of my body parts have the number (vin) written all around the car. Would my bumper have the same?

Because my "whole car" except for looking at under the hood and bumper; have the vins, i notice the shell; doors; roof; plastic work; dash have the numbering and the center console. just curious

But basically its a "either or" your saying; where I could have either option.
1. The full grill with headlights
or
2. Split grill w/ gfx and fog lights

yes,you got it right on the full grill and foglight thing.
As far as I know,all the body panels including the hood should have the vin sticker you speak of.
