Any changes in fbird headlights over the years?

I'm searching for a new headlight cover, brackets, and whatever else I'll need (hit an elk at night and the right side headlight was almost ripped out)

Are there any differences in headlights between 82-92?

I believe that 82-90 are the same, 91 and 92 are different due to the new nose design

Sounds like the headlight stuff is the least of your problem.
What all is damaged beside the h/l?
I have a spare 89 headlight bucket(no motor)you can have if you want to pay the shipping cost. You can probably find one in a local j/y for less than that though.

Well I got one. I think it was off an 88 or so. Had a nice looking 305TPI in it that I wanted.

I'll see how it easy it goes in tomorrow.

Re: Any changes in fbird headlights over the years?

the headlight doors can be modified to fit either the 82-90 or 91 n 92

I did not like the fact that my 91 had firebird ingraved in the headlight door not only collecting dirt and wax but taking away from the smooth transitions of the frontend of this bodystyle

unfortunatly I decided to become a law abyding citizen so I put a plate on the front

The main headlight assembly itself is the same from 82-90 & 91-92 diff headlight size

The Cover also 82-90 & 91-92 (mounting bolts in diff locations)

The frame around the headlight assembly were diff 82-84, 85-90 and 91-92

The motors 82-85 and 86-92, 2 wire vs 3 wire

Can ya tell I work at a Salvage Yard

You left out 1 thing....The 82-90 bulbs are different sizes (bigger) than the 91/92 bulbs.

Almost correct. 82-86 model years for the three-wire headlight motor, 87-92 for the two-wire headlight motor. Two different headlight control modules are another potential monkey-wrench for anyone repairing a 87-92 two-wire headlight system.
