Re: formula hood on gta it not a proper fit look.
honestly, its your bumper. There should be bracket from the bottom radiator support that goes all the way to the upper plate that attaches the bumper to the upper radiator support. Check that. I'm having the exact same problem with my Trans Am. The hood doesn't need to go down, the top of the bumper is sagging and needs to come up...//hcr

The hood itself looks fine, perhaps you have an issue with a front bumper cover not lining up correctly? I don't know but,the formula hood should fit the same as a t/a hood.

Looks like the hood is a little high compared to the headlight doors to. Have you tried setting the latch down a little. And it may be the bumper is down a little also.

That hood looks like it still needs to be tweaked alittle before diving into the bumper cover. You can see how high off the parking lights it sits, as well as not being lined up with the headlight doors. It seems to me like the rear of the hood needs to be raised a bit. And if you look at the driver's side rear part of the hood, it looks like its sitting alittle below the fender. Ide try to raise that rear corner, which should in turn lower the nose of the hood.
Has the car ever had its fenders or bumper cover removed or repaired? How about the headlight assemblies? if everything is undistrubed for the most part, and things were lined up nice before, Ide say just keep messing with that hood until she looks good.

Don't forget to adjust the little black plastic bumpers into the hood as your lowering the latch, otherwise it will sit odd. There should be one in the back of the hood too by the firewall. Otherwise from the different of parking lights to headlight alightment, i would guess the bumper was sagging a 1/2 an inch or so like the rest of the guys above.

Re: formula hood on gta it not a proper fit look.
yeah, on second thought, try lowering the latch. The latch mechanism is held in place by 2 bolts and if you loosen them up, the latch can be moved up and down and the latch decides the final resting place of the hood...

Yeah as soon as I clicked back onto this thread, i realized I forgot to say something about the latch. I would definetly try lowering that too see what happens.
And as the other guy said...there are bump stops at the back corners that are basically bolts with rubber bumpers on them. They hit the hinges, not the hood. You'll see em.

alright guys I will try to lower the hatch ASAP and post results up soon. Its going to be hard working with my broken finger. I will make my brother do it LOL
Re: formula hood on gta it not a proper fit look.
i had the same problem, expect mine was probably worse
i moved the latch ALL the way down, and loosened the bolts on the top of the bumper on that bracket and pulled the bumper up and tightened them.
and mine is still a little too high
oh ya, and my hood was all messed up like that AFTER i paid a body shop to adjust it, lol
mine went from this

to this

by doing what i said above, hope it helps

Re: formula hood on gta it not a proper fit look.
Yours looks like it would benefit from some headlight door alignment. As for the bumper cover area, is that an aftermarket bumper? Looks like alittle bit of nose sag starting. Still, that doesnt look too bad. From a different angle I bet its harder to see...and most poeple wouldnt notice unless you pointed it out.
Lining up body panels on these cars gives me nightmares. haha. Too many parts and panels and shims and...ugh. haha.

The headlights have brackets...and the brackets are bolted to the headlight assembly. So there are little tweaks you can make to the light. Also, the headlight door cover itself is bolted on, and you might be able to shift it alittle....i cant remember. I dont think you can do much with the cover. But the entire assembly can be shifted around a good bit from what i can remember.

Re: formula hood on gta it not a proper fit look.
What exactly did you do to get the hood corrected? Adjust the latch? Bumpers? I have a similar problem on a car I just bought. Also my hood gaps arent even. On the drivers side my hood is in contact with the fender up close to the windshield. Further down the hood the gap widens. What is the easiest way to center the hood?
My hood has a dent in it at the front which Im sure isnt helping matters but it shouldnt be sticking out the way it is.

moving the hinge a little back will make the front come a little closer to the fender and moving it a little forward will make it go a little away from the fender
when i did mine, i got it in the right position, then barley loosened the hinge and hit it with a hammer, this way you know your only moving it a little bit!
all i did was lower the latch all the way down.
