Gap between GFX...is this normal?

There is this small gap between the GFX where they meet the bumper. It looks like the cause of the gap is a little rubber bump on the inside of the bumper that makes contact with the GFX. This gap, which is on both sides of the car, doesn't seem like it should be there. So I'm wondering if these GFX/Bumper were installed correctly(I don't know if they've been replaced or not).

Here are some pics to illustrate what I'm talking about.

Can anyone who has a 91-92 z28 verify that they have that little bump thing pressing on the ground effects? It's really easy to check, I would appreciate it. I don't think mine are on quite right.

Ok thanks guys appreciate it. I just didn't want to go hacking away if it was supposed to be there. I'm thinking the bumper was replaced and whoever replaced it didn't slice those off.

Actually I just got finished taking that rear part of the ground effect right behind the tire off and snapped a much better picture of this little ****(I guess it's plastic). I think it might supposed to be there so I'm going to leave it. I can just cut out a little "C" section of the ground effect I removed to fit around the **** and it should fit better.

Hmm i definitely don't have those (just repainted the car myself so im sure), but if cutting a "c" out will work that seems like a good solution to me!

Re: Gap between GFX...is this normal?

i got those on my front gfx. its suppose to be there i am assuming and there is suppose to be a hole in the piece that touches it so it lines up good, at least thats how it is on mine, and it would make sense if it was made that way.
