Nothing wrong with cutting an access door if you do it right.

One of the members here did an awesome job. If you can do it right why not, instead of taking 2 hours to change a pump you can take 20 minutes.

Although its easier i like doing it the right way. Were they put the gas tank wasn't very smart though. Putting it under the axle was dumb

2nd safest place in the car besides the rear seats. The rear seats are the most structurally sound part of a thirdgen. Since its a 2 + 2 the tank has to be a bit further back.

If I were doing a race car thats where I'd locate the fuel cell.

I bought a Wal-Mart cover with bungee cords when I had my Camaro in storage back in 2005-2006.

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?

When i was much younger i didn't have the money for a sub-woofer enclosure and hadn't made one yet. so i bought a plastic Halloween cauldron and some RV weather stripping. 3m adhered the stripping to the outer edge of the cauldron and then put the 15 in sub in it creating a nice seal. i then took and wedged both the speaker and the cauldron into the tub of the hatch facing forward. sounded great until it got above 12 (out of 40), and alot of stereo guys couldn't tell a difference until i cranked it up and were surprised and laughed when i opened the hatch....

i have since learned to do it properly.....

My brother and I made a bass tube out of a 5 gallon bucket and a 1000 watt liquid cooled orion sub.We pushed it with an alpine 500 watt amp.My parents said they could hear us coming over 5 minutes before we got there. This was in a jeep cherokee though. It worked great until it split the bucket. The next one we built had a port hole in it.Not as punchy though.Still ghetto if you ask me but cheaper than building/buying a box.

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?

this isnt 3rd gen but, my 93 Silverado i bought a couple weeks ago has replacement cab corners riveted over the rusted ones.

the P.O. did a pretty good job covering it up. the paint matches and the body molding covers the top.

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?

I made my own sun deflector for the driver's side window. Just took some measurments, used cardboard for the backing, a few layers of papertowls as insulation, then a few layers of aluminium foil, and then staples and duck tape to keep everything in place. It even folds up.

Yikes, what a moron. I gotta admit that sounds pretty damn funny though I have an incredibly rusted out S10 that I use as a winter beater, and after letting it sit all summer it now fires the wipers a single time when I key the ignition Gotta figure out what that's about, though it is pretty amusing.

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?

i've seen a few of their cars on youtube. I actually like the orange one, i believe it was 20's MAYBE 22's on it, Kind of turned me on to liking bigger wheels on these camaros. Probably because i never seen some that clean with 20+. Them guys put work(money) into their cars, Just like everyone else.

Although on that white one, I would have to agree it belongs in this thread, Not because of how it looks, But for the fact that it has 1-2 loudspeakers under the hood. Not for an alarm, but to play music.

While I won't be as harsh on you as the other guy, I did want to mention there is an RPO code, DX3, that is called stripe "delete". My IROC came that way.

No Kidding! Wow. I learned something new. My under pad has no RPO codes. The whole sticker is badly faded.

nope, no kidding. If you ordered your car that was you got a $50 (I think) credit on the window sticker.
