Thanks for the kind words everyone. As for big plans I'll probably stick with the stock bore 350, and just add a ZEX kit, or slap on some turbos in the future. That'll be a long time away though, it only has 99,000 miles on it now. I'm more focused on the image as of now, you know. Some wet sanding for the fine scratches, a new hood, some new rims.

 

yeah dude for sure. Im the SAME boat..get as much out of you stock block as ya can. Im just doing all the minor stuff. Opened her up to let her breathe a bit with the open air element, 3" Magnalfow Exhaust. Next is re-building the top half with a new intake and fresh tbi unit, plugs, wires, distributor, starter..lol..blah blah. Just making it a dependable daily driver.

Are you planning on keeping the stock look?

 

Depends if you mean stock as being recognizable, or a completely original Iroc-Z. If I have enough cash, then most of the body will be race weight fiberglass from Rod N' Race. In the future when I have the means to get that done, I'll probably have it de-handled. Camaroguy18's Camaro looks georgous with how it just flows, with no handles on the doors.

Overall the car will probably stay close to the stock look forever, I might throw on some chrome 18's from either Intro or Boze, they resemble the stock look pretty good, but just give it a modern look. Like you said, for now I just want a dependable daily driver, that'll most likely turn everyone's head, wherever I go.

 

By the way pwdbychevy, what size are your rims? They look absolutely amazing with the black paint.

Do you know if you were able to keep the stock tire diamter with those 19's? I'm really thinking about getting 19's instead of 18's since I saw yours.

 

What size tires do you have on there now? I chose 275/35 rear and 245/40 front and both diameters are about 26.7". My other tires were 245/50 16 with 25.7" diameter but I calibrated my speedo using the SGI-5 box I have installed. If you decide to use the same size wheels as I have and want to keep about the same diameter you can go with 285/30 19 rear and 245/35 19 front both with 25.8" diameters. Lowered Camaro's look awesome. Is yours lowered, it looks like it but then again does not...is it?

Either way you have a nice camaro.

I also do not plan to go far (except BPU's) with the motor until my suspension, brakes, interior, body, chassis and wheels are done. But I do plan to keep my LO3 TBI and in the future give it a nice rebuild, stroke it to 335, bore it over and add the wynjammer kit. But like stated won't be for a while.

I bought the car last year and swapped it for a carbureted 350, I haven't ever gotten around to tearing off the heads, checking out the pistons or rods, so it's most likely just aftermarket cast internals, close to stock on the inside.

It has an Accel Ignition, Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock 650 on it, which probably will not be on long, same with the longtube headers, which are very very long, as you can see from the pictures, they stick right out from the side. Lol. When I have more cash, what I'll probably do next is a dual carb setup with some shorty headers, so I can actually go into parking lots.

 

The previous owner told me it was lowered a little bit, it looks a LOT lower in person. It's definitely lowered close to an inch, check out a picture of a stock 1986 Iroc-Z, them things are up in the air.

Another thing I've wanted to do for a while is throw on some air bags, along with some 18's, so I could take some real nice pictures of it slammed. By the way, thanks for the compliments, and here's a picture of a stock 1986 Iroc-Z, way up in the air.

 

I'm not sure of the tire size right off hand, I'll have to go out and check tonight or tomorrow, thanks for including that site, it'll probably help a lot.
