hood trouble

Hi, lately I have been trouble getting my hood open. Sometimes it will open up with no problem and other days i have to have someone else pull on it while I pull the lever. Do I need a new cable or something?

Re: hood trouble

does your hood stay up when its open? it could be the hood struts or the spring in the latch

Try some lubrication, to include the cable.

ya it stays up fine, it just seems like it doesn't get fully released when I pull the lever.

Re: hood trouble

Are your rubber hood adjusters adjusted right? if not it will catch and you'll have to pull up on the hood while someone pulls the cable.

I'd try that first to clean/lube things a bit, then use some motor oil (IIRC, that's what the manual calls for).
