[Question] Rally Stripes?

So today while I was at work I was thinking about what else I should get for my car and then the idea hit me... Racing stripes, well Rally Stripes for Camaro

so I have a '84 Camaro Berlinetta, it is white and the body is in perfect condition (They guy I bought it off of had collectors plates on it). It is a T-top, the 305 V8.

I personally think that Black Twins would look great, but I would like your guys opinion.

Here is a few pictures of my car.

So what do you guys think I should get? Also what would the pricing be for it, I have read a bit and I should get it painted on instead of Vinyl. Also what type of stripe would look the best?

Thanks in advance

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

To me it would not look that good for some reason, in my head it does not blend in perfectly with a Bert but in the end its up to you, Go in the photoshop section of the site and ask for some quick shops for stripes, they should help you out.

As for Vinyl vs Paint, Vinyl would last you if done right and is as good as painted on imo.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

If I were you I would have red rally stripes painted on it because I have always liked the look of the red as apposed to the black but its your car which makes it your call. Whats with the Roush mustang? Dont get me wrong it looks nice but I just find it kind of odd for someone to own a camaro and a mustang as thet have been rivals for years. But then again Im 16 and my mom owns an 04 mustang and she helped me buy my IROC so people are probably saying the same thing about me.

Most grown men could care less if theres a rivalry out there.

I wouldn't mind owning a Cobra later on, but third gen Camaros will always have my heart.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

Wow I totally lost this website from my favorites and I just found it again :P
Anyways The Roush is my Dads Lol. funny how you could pick out that it is a roush just from that like side view. its a 2001, Black Roush Automatic convertible. with Stage 1 Roush only two in the world (that are the exact same as his). also if anyone cares he also has a 64 1/2 Prairie bronze Mustang too.

Anyways, back to the topic. Tomorrow I am going to clean & wax it before work, so I will take a few better pictures of my car and Get someone to photoshop it, and personally I think Black, red, or orange.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

Both cars are paint, but started out as stripes before the $ was spent on paint. I worked at a sign shop, so the vinyl stripes were free for me to do.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

I have been wieghing up the same thing for my GTA, I was thinking that a set of rally stipes similar to the 69 T/A might look good. The blue over white is sort of a T/A thing IMHO

The Boss Mustangs were Mach1's some were made into Shelby GT's. I hope some day to own a 69 with a Boss 429 even if I have to make a resto mod to get it. I have been a Ford man for many years and own a '92 RS and man did I have to eat crow when I got it. From all of the grown men!

Why? Because they were our cars, not anyone elses cars. Because full length stripes are what we wanted, not the factory-style short stripes without te rof pieces.

Besides.....The purple & yellow one WAS my wife's autocross car.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

Here are my 2 cents: You've got such a Beautiful white paint job. Why do you want to do ANYTHING to it? There are alot of People (like me) who are envious of you. My Paint is Amateurish, My doors are sagging and my Bumpers are dry rotting. Rally Stripes would look the best if your car was a Mustard Yellow and the stripes were black. The only way i would support you getting those stripes would be if your Car was a deep, dark Mustard Yellow. In the words of Paul McCartney, Let it be. You have a beautiful Camaro.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

yea i have to agree i wouldnt touch that with stripes if i were you, i dont think it would look rite on that model. it dosent have the ground effects which i think really compliments racing stripes and the t tops dont help much either, the car is beautiful tho if i were you i would keep it the way it sits.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

I disagree... There's nothing more boring than a base model hood. After I painted stripes on mine it transformed the whole car

I'll do a photoshop job for you if you post a few more pics

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

I don't think rally or racing stripes belong on a third gen. It just doesn't look good like it does on a chevelle or first gen camaro.

Re: [Question] Rally Stripes?

I think it just depends on the car. If you can tie the stripes in with lets say black stripes , black light buckets, and a black grill. then you have a nice combination. Id like to also see kiLzeD's Berlinetta photoshopped with a set of black stripes just to get a better idea of what it will look like.
