Looks very well done but seems to be missing something, think new set of chrome rims would really set it off.

Wow, I just found this thread. The car looks great! You should be very proud of it.
When you get it done you'll have to post some nice high-resolution pics of it.

Heres some larger pictures! All the other ones were straight from my iphone so thats why they werent of good quality.
I havent even gotten to drive her yet because we still have some finishing touches to do before shes ready. We wet sanded the backlights and we have to clear them before im gonna put them back on, as well as the headlights. I have to paint my side mirrors, my dad had a guy from georgia bring us the lefthand mirror because my dad broke it months ago and the guy brought us a 4th gen mirror! So were still waiting for the right one! I just got my soleniods to pop my doors in the mail today, so we gotta hook them up because right now i cant even roll up my windows all the way or ill be forced to crawl through the trunk haha. I love these cars because we can never be locked out of them :P Then just finish putting everything back together and get her interior detailed because she is dusty from being in the shop for 6 months! I ordered a dash pad because my old dash was really cracked so they said it will be here in 1 to 2 weeks, im betting on 2 weeks. But i will definitely be driving her next week
Im going on a cruise tomorrow till monday so she will be a sitting duck for 5 days, i dont even wanna leave her, i dont trust anyone with my car now! Lol But when i get back im paying a photographer to take some really good pictures of her and i will be sure to post them! I cant stop looking at her! I feel like a proud parent or something! haha I love everyones support and feedback! And to a few of you who said i need rims, YES, i do. Lol I think chrome rims would look soooo good! But right now im just worried about driving her! haha but shiny shoes will be on her soon enough!

It's turning out really awesome. Did you need to wetsand/buff it? I bet you can't wait to get it completely back together. I'd go with some black wheels with a polished lip. That would balance the car out nice. Congrats on all your hard work coming together

Car looks GREAT! and the shaved handles look clean. Word of advice make sure you hook the relays for the doors direct to the battery. It made a night and day difference on mine.

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
I have to say, I'm not a fan of the shaved door handles. It was well executed, but it just throws off the look of the car IMO.
The color combo looks amazing though. Time for some rims and a V8. The only thing better than looking good is sounding good doing it.

I'd like to see some pics with all the masking stuff taken off the front bumper.
You should pick up some clear marker lights so the pink isnt broken up by the funky amber lights on the front bumper.

Looks sweet. I would totally drive this car! I'm a big enough guy for no one to say crap about it too! I agree coolwheels84, some black wheels with a polished lip would look great. I went with a torque thrust II style that are black and they look amazing
Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
other wise you could add a little black to the clear when you clear the lights ...... if you do just use a little black and let the number of coats control how dark you want them

I'm not a big fan of the two tone look but yours looks awesome!!
The rear spoiler bringing the pink around the back is the perfect touch. Don't you love it when a plan comes together!

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
Beautiful! I love it! I'm Very proud of you, and I am sure that your dad is also, because you've done an excellent job making this car your own. The finish looks very slick, and you've done an amazing job on the bodywork too. VERY FEW teenagers that I know are interested in working on a car (including my own) Let alone female teenagers. Most are only iterested in TV, Texting thier "friends", or wasting thier lives playing video games and gossiping on Facebook....Anyways, it's good to know that the car hobby isn't quite ready to die, YET. Once you get it all back together and get some nice wheels on there, it will look really hot! I Hope you like attention, and don't mind being asked a lot of questions everywhere you go cause you're going to get a lot of that now... I painted my first car whenever I was 15, ('66 El Camino SS) and it didn't look anywhere near as good as yours does! Congratulations on finally getting her painted and a job well done!

i thought it was a bit much with the playboy logo on the hood and the flames and such. always loved the rims on it though. love the wheels on yours. what kind are they?

Awesome job!! I can't let my wife see this paintjob I'll lose my car for sure... Excellent work very impressive, I think a set of Iroc Replica's with the recessed areas painted pink would look HOT!!!!
Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
Looks really hot, nice job. A lot better than my first paint job lol. I painted a 1977 Chevy Scottsdale that i built for racing and it looked kinda like a**. I have tried and tried and even had someone try and teach me, i guess i just don't have the touch (or patience)for painting... but you sure do, keep up the good work.

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
That is one amazing paint job, and the fact that you were the one to get your hands dirty on this, much respect.
I will one day get mine painted, maybe I'll just bring it to your shop
Amazing girl + Amazing car = Heaven for a 3rd gen.
Congratz on the hard work, looks like it paid off big time!
Check the southeast region thread for some car shows/cruises in the area.
I would be more than willing to cruise up there just to cruise next to that 3rd gen
Well enjoy the fruits of your hard labor and post those road worthy pics!!

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
She's still around, I sent her a pm a few days ago asking if she had done anything else with the car and she said that she needed to replace some of the weather stripping on the doors and some thing's she hadn't expected to replace so the car's taking a bit longer than expected. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it all done though

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
The paint came out really nice!
I was debating on doing the same paint scheme just never got to see a picture of that quality.
Any plans on wheels?
Also how difficult was it doing the shaved doors and locks setup?
Thanks,
Mike

Damn! This is a ton better than I pictured. This is almost how I wanna paint my car, just dark blue instead of pink. But this one is so sick! How long did it take overall?

Wow!!! Thats a very hott chick car! lol As somebody said earlier I would definitely go with a rim that has black in it. Chromes are kool, but black will go with your color scheme. What are your engine plans?
