Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
I agree the car looks great. It's screaming for a set of 17" or 18" to match the quality of your work. BTW I didn't notice you wearing lung protection in the primer pictures. Be careful!

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
Beautiful! I love it! I'm Very proud of you, and I am sure that your dad is also, because you've done an excellent job making this car your own. The finish looks very slick, and you've done an amazing job on the bodywork too. VERY FEW teenagers that I know are interested in working on a car (including my own) Let alone female teenagers. Most are only iterested in TV, Texting thier "friends", or wasting thier lives playing video games and gossiping on Facebook....Anyways, it's good to know that the car hobby isn't quite ready to die, YET. Once you get it all back together and get some nice wheels on there, it will look really hot! I Hope you like attention, and don't mind being asked a lot of questions everywhere you go cause you're going to get a lot of that now... I painted my first car whenever I was 15, ('66 El Camino SS) and it didn't look anywhere near as good as yours does! Congratulations on finally getting her painted and a job well done!
John C.

I actually have some wheels and tires picked out for my christmas present! But thank you!
I am about to post some
Although the grille i had was broken and looked horrble so as of now i dont have a grille!
But no i havent, idk if they would take a pink thirdgen seriously. They tend to focus on 4 gens and the 5th gens.Haha thank you

Looks really hot, nice job. A lot better than my first paint job lol. I painted a 1977 Chevy Scottsdale that i built for racing and it looked kinda like a**. I have tried and tried and even had someone try and teach me, i guess i just don't have the touch (or patience)for painting... but you sure do, keep up the good work.

That is one amazing paint job, and the fact that you were the one to get your hands dirty on this, much respect.
I will one day get mine painted, maybe I'll just bring it to your shop
Amazing girl + Amazing car = Heaven for a 3rd gen.
Congratz on the hard work, looks like it paid off big time!
Check the southeast region thread for some car shows/cruises in the area.
I would be more than willing to cruise up there just to cruise next to that 3rd gen
Well enjoy the fruits of your hard labor and post those road worthy pics!!

thank you! goodluck with yours!
THANKS!

Yes i am! new pics up!
and the shaved doorhandles wasnt super hard, its just time consuming. The only thing that sucks is that the metal will warp and suck in so you have to make sure you pull it back out so the dor will be straight. It was actually easier than i thought!
Ive always wanted some bling bling chrome wheels! And no engine plans as of now, my dad wants to put another engine in her, but im pretty content with my v6! the engine runs perfect!
DAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!
YOUR CAR LOOKS ROCKIN!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!
I love the pink and its not overdone.Hot pink rocks and youve done it very tastefully!!! Im wishing I had went with hot pink!!You did a great job!!!
Thanks for representing us 3rd gen girls right!!

Hey guys, i recently did a photoshoot for Racetrack and an energy called Jacked up! The best picture wins a 2011 camaro! So here are some of the pics. I think i have a good chance of winning! You can vote for my picture at www.racetrac.com/win. My picture should be up on the site this week so go and vote !
Heres the one i submitted:

Heres just some other ones i liked!

I just got my weatherstrippings delivered yesterday and i got a new mirror! so the camaro is finally gonna be completely done! I also had to get a new heater core last week, and installing that was an adventure in itself. haha but now i have a heater so it was worth the 4 hours of work!

I wanna see how this turns out too, looks great so far. I think it's awesome to see young people into these cars (Like me....)
And I really do respect how you're happy with the V6, because like others have said, that's the responsible, Smart, not to mention safe way to go about it
(Not like me....)
I have some advice for you though. For the love of god, do not ever let your friends drive your car! Or if you have a boyfriend, him either... They won't show the respect to your car that you will, after actually putting something into it. If they say they will, don't trust them

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
completely agree... i went out of town and let a "friend" of mine watch over my 85 trans am w/ the ws6 package and the lb9 305 (also had a shift kitit it) for me... i told him to go over and start it now and then to keep it fresh, i told him it had a slow oil leak so check it before you do.... long story short i come home and my car is missing, so i call him and tell him to bring it back, he pulls in the driveway and it sounds like a bag of marbles bangin around in the motor and it's pouring smoke.... apparently he decided to run 160mph without checkin the oil.... i had to sell it, this was five years ago and i just bought the car back yesterday, i have to go pick it up later this week, so please no matter how much you trust people do not i stress DO NOT loan it to anyone, if you leave take it with you lol.

Damn, great job!
Definitely like it. It's pink, but not too pink haha.
Makes me want to move to Florida... Gas is so much cheaper than up here in Jersey/PA.
Got my vote too... Never met a girl into cars like you, let alone a third gen.

The car turned out very nice! You need to move up to GA!
Your car would look perfect with some American Racing Rebel wheels. I had 17"s on my old car running 1" adapters (not spacers) all around and they fit perfectly. Would match your paint very nicely.

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
I still think this car looks awesome.
Not quite certain if the wheels should be replaced. The current set of rims actually look good on the car.
Seeing how your car came along gave me the courage to consider spraypainting my on car when I have all mechanical issues sorted. I guess that´ll still be a year from now, and I will most likely not go for a two tone, but rather something with the typical narrow to wide stripes on the hood instead.
Oh, and my girlfriends wants me to tell you she thinks you´re awesome, as is the car.

Wow that was a long read from page 1!! This car looks great for sure. Job well done and its cool to see It's a family project. My dad isn't a big fan of working on cars but he has helped me do engine and trans work countless times. I want to do a similar 2 tone paintjob now on my convertible. Not sure what color, definitely black on top to match the cloth top.
Enjoy your work and be careful!

ok, i've never liked pink on anything... especially not on one of my favorite cars, but i have to say, the Black and Pink 2-tone looks awesome.. not necessarily something i would drive, but then again, its not my car. It turned out awesome, and gave me some ideas for paint on mine when its time for it.
And my hat's off to you for doing all that work. theres nothing hotter than a chick working on her own muscle car.

Car looks really good I do like the two tone. I have thought of doing it one day. And a set of big rims 18s are the best I think

Welllll, heres my new shoes, a graduation present to myself
(with help from my loved ones as well)
i know some people dont like big wheels on these cars but i LOVE my iroc replicas!
i always have people taking pictures of her when im getting gas haha. But unfortunately somebody did a "hit and run" on my passenger side fender. Its beyond me how they just happened to not see a HOT PINK car with shiny wheels and "accidentally" hit it... but it shall be fixed. Ive also had to replace my engine computer this week which was random. anyone else have problems with their computers? Anywho, getting ready to wet sand and re-clear her when i fix my dent!

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
When I first started reading this thread, I was shocked that anyone would paint there car hot pink. I am a chick and have owned camaro's for over 17 years.
I love to work on them and everything about them! I have the two tone also, that is the way I bought it. It really has grown on me! But when I get it painted I will be going with one color, have no idea yet what that will be. I do have to say when I scrolled accross the picture's of this black on pink, I like it!!! lol
I am really glad there are more lady's that love these rides! Great job!

agree completely, i saw the hot pink and black and it was nice, something new and respectable but then i saw this and i just about threw up, way too big, most likely throws off your speedo, and your cars a lil slower now too, trust me my trucks got a built 350 and its slow with my 33's on it but faster with something smaller

Do you try to stop instead of being fast? The rotational mass of those wheels is on a much much larger diameter, as such you need a lot more brake torque than before, in other words...the car will brake significantly worse than before and the brakes on these cars aren't great to start with, even w/ 4 wheel discs.

Its your car, you do whatever you want to. I like the style of the wheels, but they are a little large for my taste. Of course I grew up on a farm, where a good sidewall is important. I think your car looks amazing, as do you next to it!

Do you try to stop instead of being fast? The rotational mass of those wheels is on a much much larger diameter, as such you need a lot more brake torque than before, in other words...the car will brake significantly worse than before and the brakes on these cars aren't great to start with, even w/ 4 wheel discs.
Step 1: lift foot off of gas
Step 2: place said foot on brake
Step 3: enjoy the car stopping

thanks for the insider information, i know a little something about braking though, and one of my next endeavors is to definitely upgrade my brakes

your not going to find a whole lot of love for 22s here...or anything much above stock size rims....
honestly if you werent a girl this thread would already be flooded with a 1000 posts of how crappy and to big those are like every big rim thread
i dont mind them, however i wouldve opted for the 20s and lowered the car a bit instead, and please upgrade the brakes...soon...

Your old wheels look like stock aluminum rims off of a 89-96 f150. They look EXACTLY the same. Were they on the car when you bought it, or did you buy them in the aftermarket?

Alcoa wheels
Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!
Car looks sick. I agree with just about everyone else that the rims are a bit too big, but its your car do what you want. I myself want those rims on my car but maybe wider and a little smaller. Great job
