Soffseal or 1A Auto weather stripping?
Which fits better? I'm looking to replace all of the seals on my TA with TTops.
Re: Soffseal or 1A Auto weather stripping?
The majority of our t-top seals are from Metro. There are quite a few board members that have bought them from us. They fit good. Here's a link to them on our site if you would like to see what we offer.

i only use soft seal for all the restoration i do. also a little pointer after replacing door seals remove your striker bolts and interior door panels. keep your windows up and rachet strap from one door to the other pulling them in slightly more than normal closing(you will have to climb out your rear hatch to get out of car) leave them sit for 24-48 hours strapped up (remember don't leave your keys in your car or just leave the hatch open) afterwards climb back in release the rachet strap reinstall striker bolts and adjust as needed. this will help for a better seal around the whole door and window without having your doors being hard to close and pop real hard open.
also once or twice a year spray the seals down with wd-40 and let it set for and hour or two so the oil soaks into the seal. then just wipe everything down to clean the mess up. this will keep your seals soft which give you a better seal for a longer time. *if you have a light colored interior you may want to cover it so you don't get any stains in your cloth darker colors hide it better.

Hatch seal tips
If you put it on and it looks to be a bit to long, its on backwards.
Doesn't even look much different one way or the other so its easy to do.
2nd tip is once you got it in place, pull it up in places and use dabs of clear silicone to glue it down. Other wise the nice new seal sticks well to the hatch when closed for a while and wants to pull the seal off when it opens.
pretty sure it was a softseal I used.

Just used 1a and I am very impressed. Everything fit perfectly and had zero issues. I give them a thumbs up.

Re: Soffseal or 1A Auto weather stripping?
I have installed softseal a number of times and personally purchased from 1Aauto and yes I did get Metro from 1A.
Both Metro and Softseal seem the same, not as good as OEM. But priced right for what you get.
Neither have the plastic inserts in the ends like the OEM so they need to be glued well.
Where I would say Metro beats Softseal, many times the soft seal would have the plastic pins that push into the door the wrong size. You would end up needing to pull all them out, risk tearing the seal, and having to install the correct size so they hold tight in the door. So far Metro has not given me the wrong size plastic pins.
Both Metro and Soft seal can also give you trouble with the door glass seals.
Since the Camaros don't have frames and the glass sits right to the face of the seal at times the joints will leak. I contacted Metro about this and they said they would work on the issue. What I noticed is the ends and corners where they are joined where not perfectly flat with each other and when one part would give from the glass hitting it, the other part would follow along and open a gap. I had come up with a home fix for it.
I took some of the plastic/foam packing material (I had some that was wrapped around my Hypertech Air foil and Temp switch for protection), cut it into small enough strips to squeeze into the holes in the back of the coners and ends of the seal. Packed a bunch of that inside the seals so it would firm up the ends and corners and still give way when the window was closed to it. Helped out lots!
I might have pictures that I sent to Metro to show what I did to help fix the leaks in these areas if anyone is interested.

Re: Soffseal or 1A Auto weather stripping?
Got mine from 1A,no problem what so ever and I never did this before, everything fit like a glove. They were Metro SUPERsoft. You have to have patience and take your time.If you can, install all the seals and close the car up for about 2 to 3 days and the seals will form to the frames real good, but try to leave the TTops alone for about a week or two.
I put mine on December 15 and stored the car outside in the rain and snow so the rubber would acclimate to the weather and BINGO,NO LEAKS.
Good Luck!
