Re: headlight motor issues

So the motor itself continues to spin after the light is flipped up/down? Haven't heard of that one happening, but it sounds like it might be an issue either with the motor itself, or some kind of electrical one possibly. Does it try to force the light further up or further down as it's still spinning?

Re: headlight motor issues

sounds exactly like what mine did, but after a few months it got worse (wouldn't come up right away) and eventually quit working.

i bought a rebuild kit from tds and now they work great and shut off when they are suppose to.
It's pretty easy to do. took me maybe 3 hours. i could prolly done it quicker but i took my time to make sure i did it right.

Just take the motors off and take them apart. Take the motor housing to Lowe's and look for some nylon spacers and match them up to old ones as close as you can. That is, if one of the old ones is still in tact. When I rebuilt mine, the spacers were a little big so I ground them down a little bit with a bench grinder until they fit. Each motor only takes 3 bushings. The old ones are basically nylon bushings, but spacers will work just as well.

I did this with both of my motors and spent maybe $3 on the spacers. Had about an hour in taking them out, rebuilding them, and reinstalling them. They work like new now.
