I got all my paint and supplies from my Auto Value's paint section (mostly PPG stuff, they'll mix paint there too). The other place I've heard good things about was Southern Polyurethane, but they don't mix basecoats - they've got everything else though and a guide on how to do the "perfect paint job" to boot lol

Local Automotive PPG paint supplier. Google or check yellow pages for your area.

If that doesn't work ask some local auto body repair shops for name of a supply place in the area.

if it's a GM color, go to prospray and see if you can find a local shop that deals in them. great paint, good prices, and they have the codes for all the factory colors

now... if you are trying to match what maaco put on your car, it may not match unless maaco mixed it with great care. you might end up having to do a total repaint to get everything to match. you ok with that?

That's the plan. In thr near future after I get my dodge I'm going to completely strip my car to metal and doing it right. Going to undercoat the whole thing good, this will also be about the time I do my lt swap

Re: Where do you guys get your paint supply's?

tcpglobal.com is a great place to get paint online, otherwise find a local paint store and ask them for an economy line basecoat paint such as shopline (ppg) or nason (dupont). When it comes to clear if it's under $100 for a gallon kit (clear and reducer &or hardner) it's probably not worth it. Anything $100=$150 is usually best for the economy and do it yourselfer as long as you take care of the paint. Just my 2 cents.

prospray is as good as dupont or PPG's top of the line paint, and priced right above the budget lines

for clear, use SPI universal. it's amazing

well, unless you are shooting metallic paint, don't even mess with clear. just use single stage

I use Southern Polyurethane products......it's top notch. I used it on my '69 chevelle. Lays down real nice, sands without gumming up your sandpaper and is fairly inexpensive. Don't confuse inexpensive with "cheap", there is nothing cheap about this product. Check out any number of classic car forums and you'll see that a ton of guys are using SPI exclusively. Their universal clear is second to none as well.

Barry is a cool cat, he won't sell you anything you don't need and will ask you a ton of questions about your project to make sure you are not getting too much of a product or products you don't even need. Shipping is free no matter how much or how little you order. Wish more places were like this.

Just made this post sound like a sales pitch..lol. Anyway, link southernpolyurethane(dot)com

+1 on this... Southern Polyurethane (aka SPI) makes show quality paint for everyday prices. Everyone on Chevelletech uses SPI religiously (they are a sponsor). You will not find a better epoxy primer for the money.

If your super broke (like me)... Tractor paint works great!!
