Re: jack point fix

Thats the problem with these cars, that spot where the fender bolts is NOT a jack point, thats why they collapse. Take it to a body shop and pay them to fix it.

Re: jack point fix

Im not metal worker but I would imagine after surveying the damage they would opt to cut and replace the damaged portions with straight pieces of metal.

Re: jack point fix

You should be able to straighten it yourself. Grab the metal with some pliers and try to bend it back down so it's straight.

Re: jack point fix

The factory recommended jacking points can't really support the weight of these cars. I have been placing the jack under the LCA's.

Good Illustration where to jack and where to place jackstands. Previous owner of my car crushed the passenger side fender by also jacking wrong. Just cause most other cars can be jacked there doesn't mean all can Well I got new fenders now

Re: jack point fix

if i wouldnt have sold the car in the first place i wouldnt be fixing anything..... im such a douche!

should i try to straighten the bent parts then fab up a new piece and reinforce the jack point and fender mount and weld everything? i would assume that would be what a body man would do.
