92 RS Body and Interior Nightmare (Pics)
I'm waist deep in my restoration and I've encountered a few problems,

The main one being the rust. Right now I have the interior mostly removed and the car's ready to go up on stands for an under body makeover. I was wondering how I would go about patching the rusted areas on the exterior/interior; and the best option for under body rust treatment (I was considering POR-15, but i figure that will be really hard considering I cannot remove any of the suspension/ drive parts)
Also, I, for the life of me, cannot figure out how to remove this material under the pedals.

There's alot of rust on under them and for some reason I found a substantial amount of water on the passenger side (It's been in the garage for weeks)

Any, advice, help, tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated, and i will continue to update on the restoration as it proceeds.

That's some serious car cancer going on there, might have to strip it to the shell and soda blast it, if funds allow. Or ditch the shell and find a better one.

Best case scenario you're going to be replacing the floor pan and part of the rocker panels. Worst case, like mine, that body's getting scrapped. Check in the rear stowage compartment and spare tire compartment as well.
As for the insulation under the pedals, you won't be able to get that out until you pull the dash, pedals, and possibly the heater box assembly (been a while since I did mine but I think that's how it was done). All of the retaining clips are behind the dash.

And as for getting a new body, this one has alot of sentimental value behind it for me, and while I've heavily considered scraping it for something better (Such as a completely finished and rust free body for $1500) I just can't bring myself to do it.
Feared tht, probably just gonna cut it out; it's obviously not doing its job anyway

Thats going to cost you a lot more time and money than just buying one in better shape. Sentimental reasons for keeping a car are nice but not so much if youre already broke and its just making things more difficult for you.

My car had water coming in like this. I thought it was coming in through the cowl drain but It ended up being rotted below the heater box on the firewall.
All and all your rot dose not look too bad from what I can see of it, My 83' was 10x worse (or at least it seemed like it) What dose under the car look like? Are the subframe and LCA mounts clean?

I'm considering taking out the dash entirely to see if there is any rust behind there too, but idk how hard it would be. Any suggestions on that front?

wat i did was just cut it out with a box cutter, the only thing about taking the dash out is that there is to many bolts and if you forget to put one in its gonna rattle like a motha.... and as far as the floor goes, replace and save yourself the headaches of fabing up a panel and the time, i just finished putting in both floorpans in mine and it was well worth it
