overhead concole - look what i did :)

i wanted a place to put a fan swich and other gizmoes so b4 i put my overhead concole in i modified it .. since the trip and reminder thing seves no perpouse to me i changed it to a swich panel its rough right now but im gana redo it and make it nice any ideas, comments?

the other gizmoes are lights for when the swich is on .. i wanted to put a digital compus but hehe that would be too much umm any ideas?

I was looking into putting the protected-style switches in there--like the kind used in f-15's and the like. Turns out they're about 50 bucks each (canadian) so much for that idea...

heh when i redo it this week im gana clean it up and put better swiches i just used what i had around the house .. the plastic is from a video cassete cover with carboard in the back from my radardetector box any pics of good swiches to use?

87 Firebird, I've seen the snap covers for toggle switches sold separately for about $10 or so but I can't remember where. $10 for a cover and $5 for a switch sounds a lot better than $50.

I was always partial to the rocker switches that light up when they are on. There is also a push button type that lights up in the middle when it is on.

I did the same on mine. In my case, it's the garage door opener! I mounted a simple pushbutton and the LED from the opener. I also made a 9V voltage regulator to tap into the car's 12V power to operate the opener. I hid the guts of the opener back where the flashlight used to go. I even found some textured ABS plastic that I heated in the oven so I could curve it to exactly match the contours of the console. Looks factory
