rev-head stage 2 full build
Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
My "stage 3" build https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fabr...-pictures.html Think of it as a roush mustang in their stages they have...bigger the stage the more extremely it gets. Like my stage 2 is my interpretation of how everyone builds their 3rd gen and calls it "going all out". My stage 3 is me going all out including an lsx454 TT with fully adjustable IRS corvette rear suspension, air ride set up on an inboard "pushrod" style suspension all around and tube chassis front end with a flip forward dog house, full fiberglass interior, zr1 brakes all around. Everything carbon fiber except the body itself. Basically a stage 1 car is a 15- 20 grand Camaro, stage 2 is a 50 grand and stage 3 is 100+ grand(Sema show quality)
Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
OK now on to something else that is fun. Got an idea for utilizing the holes for the front turn signals and turn them into air ducts for brakes to cool down. What am I going to do for front turn signals you may ask? Well each duct will have 2 2" holes side by side with an inch flange above them. In this flange I will be mounting an led flush turn signal kit so when all said and done the light will be body color and seamless until the turn signals light up. Also for the rear I'm making a custom tail light that fits SO flush to the body and bumper that it will look shaved and will also be painted body color and have the flush tail light design as well with sequential tail lights....
So on with the plan!

Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
for starters i masked off the inside of the arear i wish to make a mold of with masking tape. make sure its tight so its an exact mold of the area so when all said and done the product fits snug in its place. then i sprayed on this foam i picked up from the hardware store for $5, one can did both buckets. As you spray down the foam, spray each layer with water so it hardens faster. after that sit back for a few hours and start carving...more updates later on this.
Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
so while i was waiting for the front i started production on my tail lights. did the same steps as before just used cardboard and foil to creat the "walls" that were not their. this took me 5 cans but realized if you dont use the spray stick the foam comes out alot faster and more "fluffy". just remember to spray a little bit and hit it with a spray bottle full of water. here is what i have so far. again more updates to come. To get an idea of what i have planned take a look at this http://www.motortopia.com/worldofrod...your-rod-1888/

Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
I like the progress and the idea of having everything flush mounted. I am interested to see the finished product of the front signals with the brake duct incorporated into it. Looking forward to the updates
Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
Updates on the tail lights and air ducts.. tail light molds turned out beautifully but I suggest laying some wax or some kind of mold release agent down before hand...maybe PAM cooking spray??
Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
The front air ducts were a bit hard to break loose from the mold but after removal I added extra foam to the backside for more depth to carve out and shape for the roundness of where the duct work will attach. I'll begin to carve these out tomorrow. Also I'm cutting out the old turn signal mounting flang on the inside of the bumper to allow for bigger intake piping to be used.
Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
well went on a shpping spree and this is what I came up with...oh and I got the engine RUNNUING!!!! I have a vid but its too long to post. ill take a shorter one tomorrow.
Re: rev-head stage 2 full build
finished product for the vents. only thing left to do is paint them either white or black and do the led lights in the top flange and do the plumbing...ill get back to that after the car is painted and my brakes are done.
