The one in my 86 SC is 15.6 gallons. I'm assuming there is no difference b/w it and the Z when it comes to gas tank size.

They should be the same size. I am pretty sure this is the size through out most third genners. As mine is that or pretty damn close.

In my camaros owners manual it said that the tanks were 15.5 gallons for fuel injection, and 16.2 gallons for carburated. don't ask me why they are different, any one know?

It is 15.5 gal because of the electric fuel pump in the tank.
