Interior Color Change
How hard would it be to switch a red interior to a gray one? I would probably replace the carpet and headliner anyway and get 4th gen seats. How much would I expect to pay for seat belts, plastic parts and other parts I would have to replace? Do you think I could make my money back by selling the parts I take off? All Camaro dashes are black or gray right? I'm wondering because I'm thinking about buying a 89 RS for $1100 but it has a red interior and I want a gray interior. The body is supposedly in good condition. I'm going to see it Wendesday. It's about an hour away though. I saw a 89 RS today that was for sale for $500 but it needed way too much work. Needed all body panels except the rear quarter and the ground effects.

Not hard at all. I did it my IROC and it took me about 2 hours. I had a spare black interior sitting around.
price - depends on where you get it. you can buy new but that will be ridiculous. Look at junk yards or in the classifieds.

Hey I redid my interior from grey to black and grey, I spent about 400-500 dollars in total but I didn't have to change out the headliner and carpet so it saved me a bundul. I also use 4gen seats. It took like a year to complete, that was going to savage yards and things like that PITA let me tell you. You should check out www.thirdgenparts.com Send them an email asking on a price for a complete interior. I would have went to them first if I would have known about them, when I started. They usually got really great prices, actually the best around. Check them out. Oh by the way all camaro dash pads are black. Alright hope this helps you out.
I am in the middle of changing the color and all I can add is getting the seat belts as part of the package deal with the seats and they will probalbly throw them in or reduce your cost as they did when I bought my 4th gen seats. And I didn't have to change the carpet color but for $200 and everything already being torn out it sure adds a very clean touch.
i want to switch my interior from doeskin to black and i was wondering where you guys find your seats from 4th gens??? i want to put in black leather, power seats from a 4th gen but i dont have the slightest clue where to look or how much it would cost. can anyone help?? thanks...
look at www.tacreationsusa.com they'll have the seats you're lookin for 82taGODD

I changed from light grey to black. Total cost was less than $750.
I paid $600 + $50 shipping for my 96 SS seats which were in mint condition.
$50 for all the black plastic interior parts from an 87 Camaro at a local junkyard.
$20 for the black seatbelts from a junkyard near Ft Meade in Maryland.
And $20 for 4 cans of black fabric paint to paint my carpets.
All I have left to do now is my t-top headliner and door panels

Zepher...where the hell did you get those seats? I have been looking all over for leather seats like those. They are impossible to find. The cheapest i found them for was $900. They look like they are really dark grey though. I am looking for black. But I would settle for those. Did you get them off of a person? Did you buy them from a dealer? Please let me know...thanks. O yea....your car looks great, it is different which makes it look even better.

Those seats are from a 96 Camaro SS and are black, they just look really dark grey in the picture.
I paid $600 for the set from a company in TN called Speed Automotive.
I was quoted the price before they had the car in thier possesion. If they had the car first, the price would have been at least $1,000 they told me.

Wow...that was a great deal. I need to find some black leather, or at least black cloth, 4th gen. seats around the New York area. I cant seem to find any though, or at least any for a reasonable price. I cant wait to swap my interior. Well your interior looks great, just figured I would let you know.
