$$ question on alotta $hit
OK I know it'z gonna vary on a lot of this stuff but I was wondering how much a lot of you have paid for any of the following:
Weather stripping for t-tops and front windshield (it's all crap I went thru the automatic car wash and ended up taking a bath)
Front passenger fender ($75?)
New or Used window motors (thanks to weather stripping)
GFX from 91 or 92
Door with power windows ($150?)
A plastic headliner (I know I saw these somewhere)
New carpeting
All the interior pieces in black or grey (mine are a lovely tan :P )
Instument cluster w/white gauges (high mph 85 sucks)
How much to shave door handles?
And do you know why I saw the ASD SS hood cheaper than they sell it?
My car is a 1984 Z28 if it matters...

Also how about all the pieces of a 4th gen interior dash, console, door panel pieces, seats, etc.
I know a lot of people are doing this to convertibles I want to do it to my t-top car since I saw it in a magazine a few years back.

New passenger-area carpeting: $120, made by ACC (best name out there!), by calling the guys at http://www.1aauto.com . They also sell the "complete" carpet kit, which has the passenger & cargo areas in it, for I think $200.
Their prices beat Summit Racing, and even beat ACC's own website prices! By the way, ACC is an authorized GM reproduction company. Visit 'em at http://www.accmats.com .

I was quoted $650 for all the 91-92 GFX parts, including both bumpers.

Yeah, that was used from thirdgenresource
I thought it was a bit much too - but I guess for both bumpers you'll have to pay some $$$.

Weather stripping for t-tops and front windshield about $200 complete. www.classicindustries.com or www.amesperf.com www.nextgenparts.com
Front passenger fender ($75?) USED from a junkyard www.car-part.com or try www.tacreationsusa.com
New or Used window motors (thanks to weather stripping)no ideas on price. www.tacreationsusa.com or www.nextgenparts.com
Door with power windows ($150?)About right used. Try junkyards www.car-part.com or www.tacreationsusa.com
A plastic headliner (I know I saw these somewhere) Fiberglass not plastic. www.tacreationsusa.com $100.
New carpeting. ACC about $200
All the interior pieces in black or grey (mine are a lovely tan. New = classic industries over $1000. Used try www.tacreationsusa.com or www.thirdgenresource.com
Instument cluster w/white gauges (high mph 85 sucks)Try ebay, junkyards www.car-part.com . For whiteface gauge overlays try http://members.aol.com/rmacewen1
How much to shave door handles? $250 not including welding and painting where the handle and lock used to be. Go to this site, click exterior, then shaved door handles. http://members.nbci.com/scauffiel/index.htm
And do you know why I saw the ASD SS hood cheaper than they sell it? Probably because they sell it at MSRP and distributors buy at wholesale and sell for a profit, but because of competition it's usaully for below MSRP.
As for the question regarding 4th gen swap. the only thing that will directly bolt in, no problems, are the seats. The console with some modification.
As for the dash and door panels. The entire dash to the firewall has to swapped and it also needs extensive heavy modification, as do the door panels. I have only seen this done once, on a convertable. Is it really worth it when you could spend the money on like a 383 or something?

Sounds like I'm gonna be more broke than ever now...
And yeah I know I should spend the cash on a fuel injected 383 stroker instead of a dash, but I like the 4th gen dash (3rd is still cool as hell though) and even though more and more people are doing it, I like to be different.
