Hood pin help? Or latch fix?
Ok im tired of dealing with my hood, i can never open it unless i drive around with the lever pulled until it pops(dont really pop but comes open)
Should i just get hood pins installed or is the latch wire cheap enough to just go buy? where would i go about buying one?
Thanks!

Re: Hood pin help? Or latch fix?
Is the cable broken? What about the sheath? If the outer sheath is cracked/broken then when you pull the lever it will flex at the break...not pulling the latch all the way. Have you cleaned and re-lubed the latch? A real good cleaning will go a long ways as to how they work. The latches get gummed up over the years. Last thing would be to have the proper adjustment. But that shouldn't have changed unless you were in an accident or moved some body parts around.

You should be able to find a replacement cable easy enough then. Either from junkyard or from the classifieds here. Shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. You may even be able to use one off of another vehicle. Heck...I'll look around in my stash of parts for one. Don't remember saving one, but you never know. If I've got one I'll send it out to you.

IMO hood pins are kinda tacky, but it's you car. I like the 1/4 turn lock pins or whatever they are called. They sit flush with the hood and you use a screwdriver or a coin to turn them.
