changing milage guage??

Hey guys I just got a 145MPH speedo. The milage reads 22,000. My current engine and the old speedo reads 86,343. Is there a way to roll the milage on the new speedo forward??? I know its illigal to go backward but not forward. Any ideas on how to do this??
thanks!

You can either dis-assemble the speedo and roll it fowards, or get an old cable and use a drill to run it foward.

You can also take the odometer out of your old speedo and install it in the new one. This is what I did when I switched to a 145.

Thanks for the quick and helpful response. Now my 2nd question is my Tripometer doesn't work at all in the current speedo. Any ideas why?? Is there something to look for or check when I have everything apart??

Thanks again. Might be a little more of a challenge to bury the new speedo ;-)

I think there is probably a tab in there that has broken. Mine is currently stuck at 666 and if I reset it, it'll immediately go back to that number. I haven't had time to take mine out and check it, but that is what had happened the last time this occurred to me. Its been about 8 or 9 years since I last looked, and I am just going off memory.

Hey Demon, if you're reading this, wanna trade?
