difficulty of this repair?
So couple days my car got hit by a guys s10 blazers brush guard while he was backing out, turned the wheel to early and bam. I already got a check from his insurance company yesterday it was for $2300, had one shop so far say it'll be about 1500 for the body work. But I know ill need a new door (this one looks like quite a bit of bondo was used for idk what reason?) So I would rather get a good donor door from a junk yard. My only question is the damage to the quarter panel, could it be easily popped out and use a little bit of filler or do I have to cut a patch those spots. I would like to pocket as much as I can from the check for other repairs the car needs like new spoiler and a ground effect on the passenger side lol this would be my first real venture in to body work. So im just wondering how difficult this would be for me to pop out or fix.

For less you can beat it out and put a gallon of bondo on it to make it smooth.

Dont use bondo, make sure the shop is using a quality filler like Evercoat or USC.
Quarter can be repaired by hammering out and massaging. Skim coat of filler, glaze, surfacer, seal, paint.
Door, you are better of replacing.
1,500 is a good price. No shops around me would even look at it for that price. that's a 2.5K to 3K+ job. Make sure you get the low down on that shop before you have it done like what paint and filler they use.

Remove the interior panel, buy a body hammer and dolly and bang it out and then use a good filler, get a junk yard door

Re: difficulty of this repair?
Well I think ill be getting a door from a local thirdgenner. Rust free door for a 24 pack of budlight, i just got to pull it myself lol and now that just leaves the quarter panel. Either way it will get a filler because the shop said they would pop it out not replace it because of minimal damage. So I think I can try and get a couple body tools and attempt the repair. Worse case scenario I take it to a shop since I cant do it and all they gotta do is repair that little piece of a quartef panel. Is there any tricks to doing that spot on the quarter panel since its right there on the bend of the body line?

do a lil homework on how body hammers and dollys are used. you'll be suprised how they ARE NOT supposed to be used. a body shop will use a stinger to bring that panel back into place.
basicly they tac weld a nail onto your panel and use a ****** bar to walk it out. i know enough about body work to know what im looking at but know enough to be dangerious.

That is a seriously damaged panel on a really nice looking car. I would not want to use it to learn how to do body work.
