Stock Hood to IROC Hood
I have a standard/stock hood on my 91 Camaro RS. If you look at the underside of a standard hood, there is a section of "support arms" that look like they will hold hood louvers/blisters if you get the top layer of steel pressed down.
I was wondering if you can do just that. It could save me some money if I do that instead of getting a whole new hood.

The bracing for the hoods are the same but the skin is the difference. for what you will end up spending cutting and making your current hood work. you could buy one off a boneyard or aftermarket tiwan made for less money and hassle.

Yeah, hoods are kinda easy to come buy so not really worth modding yours, unless you know what your doing and really want to.

91-92 z28 is the same hood just different style louvers, the 85-90 style will still work or vice versa.

Will do. What is different about them? Size or look? Because if I get some without them, then buy the louvers, I don't wanna buy the wrong ones.

all i meant was either hood will work if louvers is what you are after.
the 83-84s do have what appears to the common mans eye as a place for louvers but it isnt just a black decal goes in those.
Basically just find ya a 85-92 Z28 hood and you will be set

I got an IROC hood in middle GA. $50 and its yours if you come get it.
No louvers or blisters, but GM used the same hood from 85 to 92, they just used different pieces of flair for 91-92 Z28s. You can bolt louvers on one side and blisters on the other if you wanted.
