F***in Thieves

I went to work yesterday, and not ten minutes later, a buddy of mine comes in and tells me someone tried to steal my car. I laughed and thought nothing of it. He said he was serious, so I went out to inspect my car. The motherf***er punched holes above and below my lock. The cops said if my buddy had not come along, they would have had my car. Oh, and the getaway car was stolen too. Anyway, my idea is that since I have liability only, I am thinking of shaving the door locks. I have keyless, and if that fails, I could always climb through the hatch. What do you guys think???

Go for it man. I hate ****ing thieves, got fired once because one tried stealing a new autometer water temp guage out of my '86, and I beat the **** out of him. That was a year and a half ago, and I'm still mad .

Nobody can ever own anything nice because someone else is always too ****ing jealous or lazy to earn it themselves. Bastards.

Just thank yourself that they were amatures. Any thief that knew what they were doing wouldn't have needed to bother with trying to punch the door locks. I came home one night, and heard my Camaro peeling out less then 5 minutes later, luckily I got mine back a few minutes later without any damage (the guy turned down a dead-end while being chased by the cops and bailed, never found), but looking at how the guy took it absolutely shocked me at how easy it was. I always use at least 2 layers of protection now, and depending on where I am sometimes more.

Think of it this way, if they really want the car bad enough, nothing can stop them. Shaving the locks is a good idea but they could always pop the hatch lock or just break the window. My S-10 (stolen 3 times and was found on a boat heading to the Dominican Republic by Customs Agents) had a cut off swtich that I had hidden. It was a little plastic key that that killed the starter. After I got that, the trunk wasn't stolen anymore, but they just stole parts off it now (2 rear hatch windows, stock stereo, spoiler, roof rack and such). Oddly enough, I live in a great neighborhood but it just has a hight theft rate.

Another note, if your scared that the remote alarm may fail, what about wiring up a power lock switch and hide it under the front or rear bumper. Cover it completely and that should cover you. Or install it in your little glove box in the trunk. Keep the hatch lock in place and pop it open if it fails. I think that is such a good idea I may do it myself.

Yep, I am putting the cutoff switch in my Camaro. I thinking about putting in the back corner of the sun glasses pouch on my overhead console.

When I got my 3.1L the night before I was to get a custom intake i found that my door was open and the hood was popped... Then I go ta Viper and havent had any problem.. I knw if they really wanted my car they would get it... but you know... also When I got it I got actuators for power locks, and hood pins for when its lifted(i pulled the hood lift lever inside and it went off)..... then later i got 3 air horns setup.... ITS loud... .. In other words... many options and accessories... I like... plus you can get the sensitivity set... with the door lock, and hood pin(without air horns) it cost me 340..

It would be best to have an alarm but only with a backup battery. shaved door handles will not stop anyone all you need to do is pull the window back with one hand and put the other in to unlock and open and btw i do that when i lock my keys inside and with no backup battery, its very easy to crawl under the car and cut the power cable on the bottom side of the engine and your alarm is off and your stereo is gone but the car can not be stolen though that way

Since we're venting here,,
Guess I'll call mine F****n vandals..

just thought I'd share what someone thought would be fun to do to my (even tho it's my beater,,) poor 'maro saturday night...

I got a flat so I parked it in a nice neighbourhood,, fairly well lit thinking it would be alright (since I've parked places waaay worse w/no problems). Come back the next day to 2 more flats and foot prints starting on the hatch and landing on the hood. Guess I should've camped out in the car with my "car alarm". The little bastards also kicked a nice sized dent in the pillar right behind the drivers window,,, I'm guessing bad aim for the window. Could've been worse I guess,,, I just don't get the thrill aspect of ruining someone elses property just to do it. Guess I'm getting old(er) :P,,,

(btw,, the screwdriver is in one of the slits in the sidewall,,, glad I just bought those tires a few months ago for someones nightly entertainment )

no kiddin' deadbird... you cheat on an ex-girlfriend or something. Obviously someone has it in for you and your car. As far as alarms go, I have a "CrimeStopper". It's been great. Came with a few different sensors including motion, glass, and vibration, remote start, keyless entry, trunk release, and extra grounds that make possible turning on equipment via the remote. I have the alarm hooked up to my neon lights underneath. I can turn those babies on and start the car from 400 yards away.

LoL,,, no guys,,, sorry. I'm not a terriably agressive person who likes to start crap. I was on my way home from working on my buds truck (& a few beers) minding my own. The car isn't loud & I'm not into blasting tunes thru others neighborhoods. W/o being there I couldn't tell you who or what they were thinking,,, some people just like to ruin others things.

I did however pick up a set of 91 16x8 camaro wheels & a slightly used set of tires for $400 today tho,,, didn't think that was too bad, plus it was cheaper than a new set of tires. Didn't think it was a bad price but,,(sigh) it was $400 that was going to go towards bird. Chit happens,,,

My old Trans Am was stolen, so when I bought my camaro, I hott wire my door handels and lock. Both are custom made from copper and idozed (dunno how to spell) black. I have two leads from the lock and handel which lead to two large batteries in the rear with an switch to the dash and a remote. Very easy to rig if you know electrionics. Anywayz, the door handels and lock provide a decent enough shock to burn your hanf and fingers. I tested and tested till we got it right. ITs basically like sticking your tounge in a 120v outlit, should discourge theifs.

My next Idea, retractable razor blades und the door handel. OUCH!!!Or on the back of my tires, next time they try to steal them, they will get cut up bad in the process.

A buddy of mine had the razors behind the door handle. Sometimes he would wake up in the morning and have to wipe blood off his door. EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! But it may have taught the thief a lesson.
