Can't find a kit that includes this hinge piece, don't know what to call it

The doors on my '88 Trans Am are in decent shape, and I've already replaced the lower hinge pin. But the pin that hold the bracket that the spring connects to is loose and looks like it could come out. This isn't my pic, but it shows what I'm talking about -- it's the pin closest the camera. I've been trying to find a kit that has a replacement, but no luck.

Also, while I was searching, I came across references to a GM spring tool for about $12. Does any1 have a link?

Not sure what to call it either but one way you could repair that is to remove the spring/pressure from it then get it sitting flat again and weld it from the bottom. I haven't seen them available seperately either. The only way I've seen them is with the hinge which is expensive. Good luck with it and let us know how you repair it.

I think that pin is called a detent pin. Top Down Solutions has a pretty complete selection of hinge replacement parts. They have a detent pin and roller, and also sell the GM a spring tool. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from them to fix my door. Two weeks after I bought my dream car, a 1990 Trans Am GTA, my wife backed out of the driveway and scraped the passenger side door with our minivan. The dent is pretty minor, but it tweaked the door enough that it won't close right and the alignment is all messed up. Hoping some new hinges and some work with the alignment will fix the problem.

its called a door check. bolts on the inside of the door. stops the door from opening into the fender under windy conditions.

Here's a great article, with lots of pictures, on replacing door hinges on third gens.

No, the detent pin and roller is in the back of the pic. I'm talking about the pin in the foreground, that holds the detent bracket to the door side of the hinge. I searched that site, but I still can't find the pin I'm looking for. I did see the spring tool, which is unfortunately what I already have. I was hoping for something better, as it's pretty tough to work w/ that tool given the tight space around the hinge.

Yeah but removing the doors and replacing the entire hinge seems excessive just to replace 1 pin! I can't believe w/ all the hinge repair kits available, none of them seem to have this piece
