Wierd Body Question/Pic Request

Ok, I have the chance to get a 1989 V6 Firebird for really cheap as a daily driver for while Im doing the motor swap on my Trans Am.

The Firebird has a damaged front clip, and there is a 82 Berlinetta in the junkyard here with a perfect front end. I can get it for REALLY cheap, and honestly, Im not planning on putting alot of money into this thing. I just want to get from Point A to Point B.

Does anyone know if the front clip i.e Fenders, and front end will just bolt right up? And, also, does anyone have any pics of a Firebird with a Camaro front end? I can kinda picture it in my mind, sorta!

But then what about the headlights? Firebird lights pop up, Camaro ones don't. I don't know if it would work if you swapped the fenders, front clip, headlights, and hood.. Might look interesting though.

Well, by front clip, I meant the whole camaro front end, headlights and all.. basically, I would replace the entire car with camaro pieces from the A-Pillar forward.

I would think it would bolt up without problems since underneath the body panels its all the same.

I forgot to mention, the car is Maui Blue also. How cool would it be to have 2 Maui Blue birds?

I have taken apart both, and from what I can tell, they are identical. The only diffs are the fenders, facia, headlights, the obvious stuff.

But be warned, the Camaro stuff is more difficult to work on, they had screws in really strange places. Firebird parts were so obvious.

Just my experience.

Alright, thanks man! Thats what I figured anyways. It wouldnt make much sense for GM to change them. Although, you never know with the General

The ONLY thing that your firebird would not have that the camaro has is the extra set of (high beam) headlights.

You might want to try and get some of the headlight wire connectors off the donor car for the headlights, just so they work. Of course i think if you dont really care you can just plug in the outer headlights it should plug right in.

Hopefully YOUR car's frame is straight. Otherwise you might need to pull and adjsut your (sub) frame a little to have everything line up. You would have the same problems with a firebird or camaro front clip.

Yeah, I plan on taking everything *needed* from the A-pillar forward, meaning I will be running the hood, headlights, fascia, and fenders basically..

Anyone have any pics of a Franken-Bird?
