I don't think any glue is required. I replaced the carpet in an '80 Camaro and it wasn't glued. As for getting the old out, just remove the seats, center console and rocker panel covers. Pulling the front seatbelt mounts will probably make it easier.

Just go to the local auto parts store. Get some adhesive(spay), anything will do, It's carpet, It's not going to jump around your car.. Plus youll have your seats and trim to hold it in place.

I used vise gips to help with getting the seats off. Other than that youll need a socket and I forget the size..

sorry

To get the seat belts and console.. youll need a torx socket set i think...

All sizes will be helpful.

I don't think the back carpet in my '91 was ever glued down.

If you want to glue it then go to Walmart and get a can of 3M spray adhesive. I've used it to carpet speaker boxes and it works well.

AHHH...an interesting post.I could learn something from this one.I too am planning on replacing my carpet.Keepem comin guys..oh and speaking of glue..I have worked with this type of glue that you put on both surfaces that you will be glueing(carpet and car floor)you apply it and let it sit on both surfaces until it dries, then lay it down, that carpet is not gonna shift or move on ya.We ended up useing the glue on some carpet in my friends indoor basketball court.Great Stuff!!!..just an idea,if you don't want it to move that is.i will try and find out the name of it if you would like.
