Window Regulator Rollers etc.
Hello Everyone,
Took my passengers door apart to fix my slow (almost dead) power window motor and figure out why my window goes up crooked. As it turns out someone had the window regulator out in the past and failed to put the rear top bump stop back in. Not installing this stop caused the front roller that goes in the horizontal window glass track to wear out which allows the window to move left and right about 2 inches.
My question....does anybody know where I could find just the black window track rollers that attach to the regulator arms? My power regulator is in good shape other than this one worn out roller and replacing just the roller would be easier and cheaper. I found these Dorman rollers..do you think any of them would fit for an 82-92 track ?
Also does anybody know of ANY place that sells new regulators ??(other than the crazy expensive Electric life kits)
P.S. If anyone has any good used passenger side regulators with rollers in good shape I am interested.
Thanks for any help

The third link looks like the best option, but the dimensions are confusing 5.5 x 1.8 x 1.5 inches? If you look at the reviews they were used in some GM vehicles though. Where in PA you at? Beths91camaro is in NE PA and is an awesome seller on here.

Re: Window Regulator Rollers etc.
I'm having the same issue but looking for the vertical track roller in the rear of the window. If I find a good source for parts I may replace them all.
Other than a junk yard there doesn't seem to be an aftermarket source yet. It looks like adapting a roller from a different application or repairing or making one from scratch. Hey maybe that's my new business!
Seriously, if anyone has ideas please chime in.

Re: Window Regulator Rollers etc.
I ended up buying junk used regulators until I found one that wasn't in terrible shape from Hawks (at a premium mind you). But it worked.
I never found a source for these parts. Someone needs to manufacture the entire regulator. Even Ford Taurus from the eighties have brand new regulators from Dorman.. Why can't we?

I went to the jy yesterday. They had 2nd 3rd and 4th gens. Interesting the changes they had made yet they are very similar. Of course almost every drivers side door had been cannibalized. Anyway, as you know the vertical roller is part of the track assembly attached to the window and the roller is riveted on. I may try a couple of things.
One is to remove the rivet head from back of the roller stud and just weld it to my assembly. This may be possible from a 4th gen car as the wheel and stud look the same. I haven't measured one yet but it's close.
The other idea is to remove the entire track from the window and use the whole assembly with my glass. The problem here is swapping the glass from one track to the other. I know it's possible but just haven't done it before so it's another discipline to learn. I suppose I could use the entire window if it's in good shape but am hesitant because when I've done this in the past I could tell slight differences in the tint and mine has the "security" decal on it an don't really want to have different windows. Geez just to correct a rattle this is getting deep.
Does anyone have any tips on getting the outer felt off with the window still installed. It looks like taking the inner guide/felts off will give more clearance but it's still too tight to get a Philips Z driver into.

Re: Window Regulator Rollers etc.
i just finished installing a 4th gen power regulator in my 3rd gen camaro and it fit perfectly with no modification.
NOTE... in the 4th gen camaro the motor points upward toward the front, in the 3rd gen it points downward towards the front as a result, the 4th gen driver regulator goes on the 3rd gen passenger door and dont forget to flip the spring on the regulator

Re: Window Regulator Rollers etc.
Do the original rollers come apart? Or once assembled they cannot be reused?
I have several from a salvage yard, and wondering if there is a way to move only the nylon roller to my car (sans metal shaft)?
