Windshield Motor Problem

I completely gutted my engine bay and I'm in the process of putting back together. I went to install the wiper motor but there is a gap between the firewall and where it's suppose to have a grommet or some type of "rubber piece". Mine fell apart (grommet/rubber piece), when I took it off. I've searched the forum, looked it up at the Autoparts stores and nothing. Anyone know where I can get one?

Re: Windshield Motor Problem

if you cant locate one, you could try to make one out of some hose, or try to get an o-ring to fit it ... not sure how big the gap is though

They're called isolators. I did a quick search and found these that may work. You'll have to call the company and get dimensions if you can to be sure.

Re: Windshield Motor Problem

Hmmm, I had to take the rubber pieces OFF the windshield motor in order to make it fit when the SuperRam went on. It still bolted to the firewall just as well as it did before.

Re: Windshield Motor Problem

They're there to dampen vibration noises from the motor. It will mount like that but it will be noisy.

Re: Windshield Motor Problem

I really appreciate the replies,,, Ill look into this tomorrow. And yes it will bolt on with no problems, there is just that gap from the wiper motor to the firewall in the center. Thanks again for the ideas and info.
