Hello guys. I'm Lance, and I'm new to these forums and hoping you guys could help me out in search of a color. I have a 1967 Camaro that I am re-painting, the car was this color when purchased, and I was told by the previous owner it was called Firemist Red and was used on the third gen Iroc Camaros. A google search on the color didn't net me very much, nor did a search here. Upon a little research I did find a color called Flame Red Metallic that was used on these third gen cars that does look close. Does anyone know if there was a Firemist Red? I've always loved the color of this car and would like to match it as close as possible to what it was. I only have one picture online of the car before it was media blasted, anyone have any ideas if this could be a third gen color? I know it's hard to tell, but I appreciate any help anyone can offer! That red looks decently darker than any red i saw on an Iroc.

 

No "firemist red " in third gens and yes that color is a darker red than any third gen. We got maroon instead.
5th gen Camaros came in a nice color called "ruby red" I think. I like it:

I'm guessing he's referring to Flame Red (as it was called on Firebirds), or Dark Red (as it was called on Camaros). The paint code is the same for both. Awesome color IMO. Looks great on GTA's with the gold wheels.

Thanks for the replies fellas. The car is dark in the shade, but pretty bright in the sun. I'm trying to upload some more pictures of it. I googled the Flame Red Metallic and it looks extremely close.

 

The Camaro factory color is Dark Red Metallic.

 

Brillant red is the color of my car the paint code is WA 9540 it is dark at night but in the sun its bright it had a lot of pearl and is stupid expensive I went to get some paint and in deltron its almost $300 a quart

 

Thanks for the replies guys. I added a second photo to the original post, but I know the quality is bad and it's tough to tell. I'm finding a couple different paint codes for this "flame red metallic" paint, one being WA 9540, and another being WA-8748. Too hard to tell the differences in pictures online. I guess I'll have to try to track down a paint store and see if they possibly have paint samples of both.

 

Looks like Flame Red Metallic to me. Does it have an orange look in direct sunlight?
