GTA seats or 4th gen seats?????

Hey guys/girls i got a question i have and 89 Formula with no power seats; now if i get leather 4th gen seats or gta seats that have a power drivers seat how would i go about hooking them up. Also ne one know where i can find a set for a resonable price and a rear seat in leather for a resonable price. Also on my seat that i have now i can control moving it back and forth and till the back rest but there is still one more lever and i have no clue what it does. Thanks in advance ppl.

I think you will find the third lever will tilt the entire seat assembly.
As for power seats, if it only the drivers seat, you will need 12 volts, (constantly hot) for the seat, and of course a ground.
If you get the GTA or any other seats with power lumber and inflatable bolsters, you will have to get the wire harness and pressure / vacuum line that goes from one seat to the other (under the carpet) as the pump is mounted under the drivers seat, but still operates the passenger seat. The switch on the passenger seat operates the pump and valving under the drivers seat for its own use.
Hope this isnt too confusing.

Leather seats can be had typically for $400 up, in good condition. Check with speciality dismantlers, or possibly ebay.
I bought a full set (front and back) of full power leather 4th gen seats for my GTA in mint condition for $400.

Cheers

Richard

Junk yards seem to have alot of 4th gen seats available. You just have to go to a bunch to see which is in the best condition.

4th gen seats, front and rear bolt in perfectly into a third gen. No mods required.

Cheers

Unless you want to take advantage of the power lumbar and bolsters. Then you need to tap into the +12 volts, as well as run wires & air hose between the two seats. Instead of clamming up $100+ for the GM harness, I made my own and bought some vacuum hose for the air pump. Works like a champ and cost me about $5.

Everything listed above is correct. Power and ground, as well as the added lumbar wiring which just goes from one seat to the other.

I have a set of 4th gen seats in leather I'm looking to get rid of, but I'm not really interested in shipping them.

If you remove the seats from a 3rd gen, the power seat wires go from under the seat & simply plug into a panel on the left side above your kick panel. I simply followed the wires around & unplugged. The ground wire attaches to the body close to the thresh-hold. this does a nice clean job and it is designed to take the load.

4th gen might be the same but I do not know...

John
