Body Kit Question

Hey everyone,

I came across this image of this red third gen a while ago, and decided I want to build my Camaro this way. I love the look of my third gen, but I want to build something really unique and different.

I'm fairly sure that is the Duraflex Extreme Dimensions Xtreme body kit, but this car has something different than the regular Xtreme kit. The middle section between the lights is a lot slimmer than usual and the lights themselves are slimmer as well. Usually this kit just looks like the one in the second image (blue Camaro).

Does anyone know what this person did to achieve that look or what the bumper on the red Camaro is called?

Thanks

Re: Body Kit Question

Aha, you're right! I did some more research and it turns out that it's just the Xtreme kit for the Firebird. Does anyone know how easy/difficult it would be to put that Firebird kit on a Camaro? And I'd have to get different fenders as well, right?

yeah that is a firebird your looking at there, and I do believe you can swap the nose, fenders would need to be replaced. also the hood if it doesnt have one in the kit. probably some of the hardware also at the nose. lights ect. the whole nose.

What problems did you have trying to make it fit? I thought they were supposed to just bolt right on..?

Re: Body Kit Question

i put a different kit on the front of my car a few years ago. what a mistake and waste of money. it also fit terrible. look at the sides in that kit,...you have to either epoxy or screw it to the fenders. then blend it in. definetley not a bolt-on. you'll run into all sorts of problems.
then if you get it fit real nice, and ever want to sell your car, you'll have very few people that like it as much as you do. just some things to think about.

my body "experiment" is laying in the backyard. i cant give it away, nobody wants it, lol.

Re: Body Kit Question

I can't imagine that kit was easy to install seeing as front bumper and fenders are all one piece. Should be an easier fit with separate pieces though.

the bumper came as one piece. the fenders are factory ones. the bumper cover wraps around the sides. i had to screw it to the fenders then fiberglass it on. i took it off as one piece because the fenders are ruined now.
i also had a terrible time with hood alignment.
heres a link to the cover, but it doesnt show you how it comes.
