hood bolts
ok got a small problem holding me up I am trying to put my hood back on and cant get the bolts to go back in. its like somehow they got stripped when they came out. I thought about ordering some bolts off ebay. or going to the local hardware store and just getting some self cutting (?) but maybe I am just doing something wrong and missing something simple. I'm hoping not to take fenders off both sides of car just to replace the clips.

Re: hood bolts
If the bolts weren't lined up they may have went in crooked and ruined the threads that they're supposed to go into. If they don't want to thread in with the hood off, I would take one of the bolts down to the hardware store and get a tap and some oil to clean out the threads.

Re: hood bolts
also have someone help you w/install, it is hard to do by yourself & be careful for your windshield as I know a few people who have broken their glass.....
Re: hood bolts
Not sure how these hoods are designed (thread wise), but if there's a removable J-thread insert in the hood (where the hood bolts to the hinges), you should be able to replace them with new ones too.
We always used two guys in my dad's body shop putting hoods on. It'll make it a lot easier to attach and line up.

Re: hood bolts
yeah these are the ones that go from the hood to the fender and the j clips look like the can removed from the 2 rear holes by taking the fenders off. I was trying to avoid that (if possible)
