ah, i didnt know that. i bet your right, cuz yours and mine do look a little different. that is a sexy iroc tho! i love it!!
Thank man! It's been a long road, which I feel is never ending...she's heading to paint jail in a week for some touch up before GM Nationals in Carlisle PA. They are doing a 30th anniversary showcase for the IROCs and mine made it in, so I gotta make her look a little prettier. The front lip has light scratches that need fixed. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the way she has turned out. There's a lot of pictures of the car in my profile albums if you want to see inside and out, and the work that's been done. Thanks again for the kind words.
This was the only year Maui Blue was available for the Trans Am. The light blues used in '85 and 86' were similar, but not the same (a little darker - more "royal" blue to me). The Formula and Firebird models had Maui Blue in other years as well, but only available in '88 for the TA.

Keep them coming guys. I love the blue third gens. The wife has been taking photography classes so if it ever quits raining on the weekends I will put up some HDR photos.
I wish I could have like 5 camaros and birds all in different shades of blue.
Shortly after I got it (I swapped out the trashed grey cloth interior, for a nice Blue Vinyl Interior and added the Clear Markers I had laying around.):
And shortly after I spent an afternoon on a lil body work:
Just got word that the IROC is done at paint jail!! So fresh and clean!!! Picking it up tomorrow! Anyone coming to GM Nationals in Carlisle PA in a couple weeks? I'll be there with the car in the 30th Anniversary IROC display. Stop by and say hi!
Awesome but 3rd? Where the judges blind? Your car is beautiful. I will post some pics when I get it back from the detail guy. I'm sorta nervous about leaving my car with someone else, let alone letting them touch it. Went by today and looked at some of his work and it was really good.

I did the same thing with my car. It's been gone for over two weeks and I just feel lost not having it in the garage. I went to visit her as much as I could. As for my third place win, hahaha, first place was this white 89 IROC with 14K original miles and all paperwork. Kinda hard to beat that one, so I understood. That's my car beside it talking to some people after I got my award. The second place winner was a blue 91 Z28 and that thing was low miles and all original as well. I was pretty happy with third, but I can only move up from there. For me, it's all about having fun and showing off the car. Thanks for the kind words. Your car is awesome as well!
Looks great. If time permits, I will post some pics Friday when I get mine back from detail. I am both nervous and anxious about getting it done hah. Then I get to finish the inside since I was only having the outside done. Have a car show at the zoo Sunday.
The Base Firebird & Formula used Maui Blue from 1988-1991
Interesting. Happen to have a breakdown of 1990 Formula Maui Blue numbers?
Where do you find these numbers? in 1990, that is 6.4% of Firebird/Formulas but with 7 colors available, 1/7=14% its a pretty low number, lol, as I was figuring this out, I realized I was on your web page Nice work over there by the way!
Really quick some Maui Blue 23U production info
1990 - 2500 Camaros, 1178 Firebird ( NO TA's GTA's or Z28's
1991 - At least 3658 Camaros & 902 Firebirds ( NO TA's, GTA's or Z28's )

I never get tired of seeing your IROC Travis! Very Nice!
Wow! Thanks Bob!!! It's been hard to drive her lately. Seems to be scattered showers a lot lately and I don't chance driving it in the rain. Can't wait to get out to a few more shows before the season ends.
Very amazing story! How does no one notice a brand new IROC in this dudes garage and not say anything??? My IROC had kinda the similar fate. It was stolen in 1988 with around 8K miles and was recovered a few weeks later. It was missing some parts and the insurance company deemed it a loss. The guy that owned it bought it back and got it driveable again and sold it. It changed many hands over the years and ended up in Maryland where it sat stagnant for 15 years. The guy I bought it off of found it in a barn with 50K miles. He buys it, doesn't check the fluids, and attempts to drive it home, and destroys the original 305...the rest is history. I spend many years and way too much money trying to find original parts to get this car to what it is. I couldn't be happier though. She truly is my dream car!
