Re: 87 trans am "extensions"

You can try this place,I've had some good luck with them in the past.It would be a nice idea to get a Parts And Illustration Catalog to get the P/Ns from it.

Re: 87 trans am "extensions"

those items you're referring to have been discontinued. Every now and then someone will be selling an NOS one on ebay but in all honestly your best bet is a junkyard.

Re: 87 trans am "extensions"

Easy to make them. I picked up a 3' length of 1" aluminum at the hardare store and cut it to the length needed. Then held it against the fender and checked the shape. I had to clamp it in my vice and give it a bit of a twist to sit nicely. Then marked the holes, drilled and tapped for M6 bolts and put some bolts through it with loctite. then it works just like the stock one, slip it on inside the fender and use nuts and washers behind the GFX.

Mine was on a Camaro, but it can't be that much different.

Re: 87 trans am "extensions"

Built my own, can't remember the ga of steel I used, but I simply drilled holes in it in the proper location, put a bolt through each hole, tacked them in there and ground the heads off. Worked just great.
