Thats not too bad. The paint and thinner will probably cost about $100, and then more for bondo, sandpaper, misc. All in all, its not too bad.

i have a tire sized dent in my caravan's sliding door.... the average shop cost was around 2000 CDN (this was for the instalation of a new doorpanel, and colour blending, no welding or bondo involved...) This guy is a hero... doing bodywork sucks
(A year of banging, sanding and cutting, as well as 5 can's of bondo, later.... and after I laid down the paint you can still find dents that i missed.... I'm not a fan of bodywork...)

It all depends on the amount of work that needs to be done. As embarrassed as I am to say this, I got my whole car prepped, body work fixed, and painted for about $400…

Granted, this was an el-cheapo, 4-day paint job place, but I still get compliments on my paintjob every day form every walks of life (after 18 months or so).

I’m not saying that you’re getting ripped off… I’m saying that I’m a cheap bastard but seemingly pulled it off quite nicely!

Look around. Compare prices.

Think it cost me about 400 bucks to do my car, 300 in paint and 100 bucks for odds and ends. Did all the body work and painting myself though

Hey evilcartman, you live in northern california. How much would you charge to paint a 3rd gen convertible? Looks like the person who did my first job sniffed more of the paint instead of putting it on the car.
That's the car BTW. Has a couple of really small dings. If I took off all the GFX and did the prep what would you think it'd be for you to properly spray on some good paint, leave for a week while it dries then I wetsand everything. Then come back and clear coat it?
